I came in looking to just consume a braindead H content but got a pretty decent gaming experience out of it. It's a roguelike dungeon crawler type of game. Beat enemies, level up, accumulate skills for your next run and so on.

Positives
  • I beat the game on my 3rd run so it can be finished quite quickly, which is a plus IMO.
  • There are enough variations in skill choices and enemies to make each run feel unique.
  • RNG is nicely balanced, didn't experienced any frustrating runs due to scuffed RNG.
  • MC is fully voiced.

Negatives
  • Unlocking certain H scenes can be painful. You unlock H scenes by using a currency called Death Shards, which is specific to each monster type, and you gain 1 for every monster you beat of that type e.g. beating 1 Goblin gains you 1 Goblin Death Shard. Because monster appearances are random, unlocking certain monster H scenes may require you to do many, many runs if you're unlucky.
  • Enemies only have grunt noises, no voices.

Funnily enough, as a H game, I feel like this game does better on the "game" part rather than the "H" part, when the trend is usually the other way around. Take that how you will, but I enjoyed it overall.

Since the last Legacy of the Duelist game, I can say that the Link Evolution did... absolutely nothing to improve on it. The same problems persisted from the previous game, such as:
(1) the campaign mode being a boring text wall summary of what happened in the anime
(2) the lack of QoL duel settings such as chain ordering, skipping animations, etc.
(3) the card pool being stagnant and never getting updated

I remember buying WCS 2009-2011 series on DS because it offered an actual campaign mode with its own story. This is just an un-innovative lazy text scrolling slop. If you just want to play a card game simulator, just play Master Duel or a bunch of others floating around on the internet.

Palworld is an innovative combination of monster collection (Pokemon) and base-building survival game (Rust) mechanics... with guns! The game offers a lot of content and a wide area to explore. It's pretty fun to play solo, but I think it's the most enjoyable to play with friends. 7/10 would recommend!

Is this game hot? Yes, very. Is this game good? It's... fine, but it's somewhat rife with some very annoying issues.

Positives
One of the game's strong points is definitely the storytelling and presentation. So many games with succubus nowadays have been watered down to no more than cosplay sex stories. This game really emphasises on the actual horror and menace of succubi as a demonic race. It definitely added some thrill to the gameplay, and made it... scarousing. It also has a nice pacing and progression.

Negatives
The UI and the controls suck ass, no pun intended. Basic/ugly fonts. Clicking skips text but there's no dialog history in case you missed anything important. You can't save outside of dialog choices, and the saves can sometimes be broken. The gallery mode requires you to go through all the items in the category, and there's no simple exit button (you have to soft restart the game via save menu). Overall lack of basic settings and controls for VN-type games.

Final Thoughts
If you're looking for a good H game, this game definitely nailed the H part. If you're looking for a good VN game, I'd look elsewhere.

Refind Self was a unique experience as it was both a personality quiz and a story-based game in one. You play as a female AI robot who goes on a self-discovery journey on what it means to be human, and the story cleverly sets you as a character who develops their personality through their interactions with the world.

Positives
The personality gauging mechanic was interesting. Every action or decision you make in the game, and even how long you take to decide on those actions contribute to your personality profile by engaging with various aspects of your personality, such as morals, compassion etc. The game requires 3 playthroughs to have a complete analysis of your personality profile, which is fine as there are enough variety of options to explore on different runs.

More than the personality quiz aspect, I was enthralled by the story implications and found myself just exploring the game in order to uncover more about the story. The story creates a thought-provoking self-reflection on what it means to be human, the beauty of human imperfections and the challenges of adhering to human morals, told from the perspective of an AI who struggles yet strives to comprehend such concepts.

Negatives
My biggest gripe with the game was the fragmented storytelling that made it a lot less enjoyable than a well-crafted streamlined experience. I feel like the personality quiz aspect which encourages for player freedom contradicts with the way that such an emotional story should be told. It is also a massive pain to unlock all the endings (based on the 24 different personalities) since there are no mid-game saves, and those endings contribute a lot to your understanding of the overall story. I recommend watching a compilation video on Youtube instead for those btw.

Final Thoughts
All in all I still enjoyed the game, and it didn't take too long to finish, so I would recommend that people give it a try if you find the idea of a personality quiz that blends a bittersweet story experience appealing.

A great rhythm game and the fact that you can play it for free is mind boggling. Just started playing but the gameplay and the music's already got me hooked. Would recommend for sure!

Master Duel is currently the best iteration of an official online YGO card game. Unlike Duel Links, MD follows the physical TCG rulings and comes with a near complete pool of cards from the TCG. One thing to note is that they have their own banlist, which is closer to the OCG banlist than the TCG one, albeit still slightly different.

Is it F2P-friendly?
You get a fairly decent starting funds to build a 2-3 decks when you start the game, but it becomes rather slow to build decks after you exhaust your "new player funds". There is also a high rarity staple cards hurdle you have to get over to make your deck competitive, with the upside being that once you get over that hurdle, it's fairly easy to build future decks. Seasonal events are also fairly generous in rewards, so overall I'd say the game economy feels rather okay as you can build a new deck or two every month.

What is the player experience like?
The game has a ranked mode and a casual mode, and varying monthly events that last for about 2 weeks. This sounds like a good range of options, but unfortunately the casual mode is currently a joke. You can't complete your daily missions in casual mode and there is no MMR matchmaking at all, which means a complete beginner could end up VSing a world champion and get absolutely crushed, making the mode a complete garbage.

Ranked mode is your typical PvP rank ladder, which you can climb to earn rewards. You move back one rank at the end of the month (e.g. Gold to Silver) but you cannot lose ranks until the monthly reset (although you can lose stages within the rank, e.g. Gold 1 to Gold 2), which in my opinion is fine and fair.

The monthly event format can either be fun or absolutely tedious depending on the event rules. These formats tend to be a breath of fresh air from the ladder experience and allow the players to enjoy new decks and new metas. That being said, we have had a few terrible ones in the past (like the No Extra Deck event where everyone was playing either stun or burn). It's also a shame that these monthly formats don't get incorporated into the casual game mode so anyone can play it at any time even without the event rewards.

TL;DR
The game has a good start and can be decently entertaining without forcing you to spend money, but otherwise feels very incomplete in terms of features and game modes. I'm hopeful that Konami expands on MD as it has a great potential as a CCG.

A very cute VN game about high school romance and overcoming bullying! There's nothing too fancy about the game itself, but the story is short and sweet. I also love the art style of the author, and the music tracks are enjoyable. The author seems to berate himself a lot in the afterwords for the game's imperfections, but I think it turned out pretty good honestly.

Overall, would recommend for a light-hearted read, especially if it's on sale. 7/10

ER:BS is a fusion between a MOBA and a battle royale. It is a very interesting concept of which I was sceptical of when I first tried it, but once you learn how the game works it's actually pretty fun. The gameplay consists of spawning in a zone of your choosing, collection materials and items to build your equipment into higher tiers and defeating your opponents along the way until you are the last man / team standing.

If you are afraid of the learning curve or studying builds, don't worry! The game's got that covered for you with their own recommended builds which you can follow during the game with the help of the UIs, or alternatively you can choose one of builds that other players have submitted to the game. Overall the game is very easy to learn and caters for anyone who has not played MOBA or battle royales before.

That being said, the game is still very new and could use a lot more maps, game modes etc. For now it is definitely looking promising and I am hopeful that it will grow much bigger in the future. 7/10 would recommend trying!

So a bit of personal context is that I downloaded Artifact because I heard it's been made free and that I'm generally pretty interested in trying out new CCGs, especially ones with single player campaigns. Out of all the CCGs i've tried, Artifact feels very underwhelming in "welcoming" new players. The tutorial is as bland as water and the gameplay itself doesn't feel very satisfying. I thought it'd get better once I got into the campaign, but it was literally just a wall of text before I vs a computer AI with no personality.

TL:DR the game seems very bland and doesn't appeal to me at all.
