For a game lauded as pushing the medium forward with mature gameplay, the puzzle stuff really lacks any sort of nuance.

It also lacks any sort of bite. Over the course of my several play throughs of the game I heard the word "logic" a few times, but never the word "bombs."

I thought this was gonna be a flavor of the month underwhelming walking experience like Mouthwashing was. There certainly were some missteps with the english translation and a bit too much exposition going on at times, but overall it was memorable and fun. Clearly the guys that made this care a lot about games.

Huge improvement over the first game which I liked very much!

I had been waiting for a run-based TD game for a very long time and this is the best on the market as of now. The progression and economy of the run give you a lot to consider when making choices on which node to go to next. Sometimes you'll get a map where you can visit every single node and you get a lot of money and stuff.

Slay the Spire is nice because you have 4 characters with their own pools but this game has 20 or something. There is a lot of overlap in the pools but the dev thought very carefully about them. He made sure they were a good fit for the theme of the deck its individual stats and passive abilities.

There are plenty of games out there that are just to pass time and no one passes time like Tower Tactics Libtardation

I haven't seen everything there is to see yet in POOLS. But what I did see was worth $10. This is one of those walking art piece type of games and it does have a great atmosphere. Parts of it made me feel like I was in the YMCA locker rooms or at a fancy resort or something.

However I do think there was some seriously wasted potential here. I appreciate the restraint exercised on the horror elements and not shoving art up my ass every 2 seconds until it gets pretty heavy handed toward the end. Some of it landed but I did roll my eyes a couple times. Particularly at the end, very disappointing.

In the beginning I walked past an air vent and it was making a soft noise and later I walked by again and it was rattling like it was coming loose. Leaning more on more moments like these, inspiring fear through plausible real-world situations like this and gradually increasing their frequency and unlikelihood throughout the game would have been much better.

And the visual complexity would have been better off with a more consistent trajectory throughout. They could have explored much more with different colored lights and surface textures. Even the composition of the rooms had a lot of room for improvement.

I had a lot to say because I enjoyed it very much but could have enjoyed it much more. Good job to these guys and its worth playing. Also don't bother on steam deck the default graphics configuration leads to a very disorienting graphical issues.

Fun game with a very brief and fun story. You fly around and shoot and then a boss shows up and shoots at you.

One of the best OSTs I've heard in a while too.

You're in a world. There is a wall. You mine and you shoot and you die. EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this game was gonna be all form and no substance. This is not the case. Yes it's one of *those* games. I'm sure you're very tired of playing them. However this game is a bit different because it has reloading and different weapons and characters with their own abilities to keep it feeling fresh. I don't really have too much to say other than that it's good.
