Dr. Silvan, is (or was) the account on your friend's list? Community banned accounts can still message their friends. They can't post in discussions, profile comments, screenshots, workshop, etc.

Also, Steam Support might have banned the account just after it tried to scam you. Steam support community banned an account that posted a phishing comment on one of my screenshots soon after I reported it https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1973109383 Maybe it was banned so quickly because other Steam users that it tried to scam had also reported it earlier.

By the way, who are you? I noticed you constantly try to help people with their scam problems for quite a while now. That said I don't believe in good Samaritans that easily.

Dr. Silvan, you are very welcome, but please do not ask other people to report a Steam account.

The logs will show Steam support that that other Steam user has no interaction at all with the reported account, so it will be obvious that it is a false report. If Steam support sees many such false reports, they might think that the reported account is the victim of harassment and is actually innocent.

What if then Steam support stops looking at the reports on that account and so never gets to your true report about the scam?

Also, the account that you linked has already been COMMUNITY BANNED. I can tell that it is banned by the way the profile looks (looks like a private profile, but does not have the notification that it is private). But you can also see that it is banned yourself. One way you can see the community ban is on SteamRep https://steamrep.com/profiles/76561199019164878

There is no need to report it because it has already been banned.
