underrated local (aka couch multiplayer) game.

Game has modes like:
+ main campaign: local coop with 2-4 players. (or solo.) Play thru each level starting from level 1 and save the hostages.
+ local 2-4 players versus.
+ local 1-4 players arena coop. (where enemies spawn in waves).

A couple of small issues / side notes:
- Aiming with mouse+keyboard is easier than with a gamepad. Because with gamepad you shoot in the direction (which will be approximate shot if the target is far away.) But with mouse you will simply click on target far away, so no real aiming will be needed as shot will fly in a straight line.
Perhaps aiming with gamepad needs some sort of buff?
Im just saying that if you will play local versus with 4 players then the person with mouse+keyboard will win more easily. The only option you will have is giving the mouse+keyboard to the most noob player to try to balance it that way. Or just agree that no one uses mouse+keyboard controls.
- No cloud saves. main campaign will always be locked from the 1st level if you will decide to play again with friends on another PC. So you might have to backup the saves manually.
- Unlocking other arrows gives no real advantage. Why? Because once you activate them enemies will also have the same arrows equipped!!! Then what was the point of collecting all that gold and activating other arrows???

I should really stop buying games I will never play...

Sorry to say this but there is not a single reason anyone would play this over the towerfall ascension. And you can get that game much MUCH cheaper than this one. Just let that sink in: there is official "local multiplayer versus" standalone game for 8 players on itch.io..... for 4$. The replay value is just infinite there. Or just buy the standard "4 player" game here on steam.

To make this worse this game basically never goes on sale. Why? Dont ask me. But its not worth ~14 euro it asks for. Because entire game is a mini-game. Would I pay 3 euro for it? Maaaayyybe. Only because I like to collect local multiplayer games. Because I know I will never play this.

The game is just not fun:
* you have no idea when your attacks have recharged. There is no indication. You have to spam like idiot removing what little strategy this game could have.
* the entire game (any/all modes) contain of 2 actions: jump or attack. There is zero depth to this game!!! Its just way too casual to be fun.
* ZERO synenergy between jump and attack actions. You jump to a platform as a trap laying slime and lay a trap mid-air -> the trap slides off completely off the platform to the corner of the map, hitting no-one. Can I activate the trap manually? No. The game has only 2 buttons, remember?
You just have to spam an attack and pray you hit someone.

Now the developers have added the online multiplayer. The problem is: they have attached the pricetag of a full game to a mini game, so noone will ever buy and play this. The amount of players at any point is just zero.
I can only guess that devs think that they can be bold with the pricing because local couch games is a niche market... the problem is there ARE better games out there. Duck game, broforce, towerfall, invisigun, - and this is just from the top of my head. Have the devs played them???

the game is like a mix between spelunky and Caveblazers. If you played any one of them then you know how challenging and grindy it can be.
Frankly I like this game much more than any of those 2.

played solo as a mage:
* after 20-30 hours finally got the equipment which I got to hold briefly during the tutorial.
The items you will see in the tutorial... just dont expect to get them right away. Its more like a virtual carrot for you to keep playing than a fair demonstration on what you will get on your first run(s).

* The main boss on each level is RNG. I swear, on most of my runs I get garbage spells like dash, but as soon as I switch to other classes like rogue - I immediatly start getting powerful attack spells.
"Here's a dash spell, now go and defeat that golem that stands behind the corner. I trust in you bro!"
So you always fight to make most of the worst.

EDIT:
I played this as a local co-op with 1 more player (Supposedly it supports 4 player max):
* the longer you play the more "complex" levels start to generate. this is VERY noticeable on the first cave levels when you often need to jump super close to the spike traps.
-> The point: I played for 50+ hours and can handle those traps. But if another buddy visits you and takes the controller for the 1st time in this game - they are dead after 2 minutes (dead from spike/boulder traps). And this is before even facing challenging enemies.
Unless you both play local coop (entire game) from 1st hour TOGETHER - it wont "work".

+ simple graphics but very addictive.
+ lots and lots of replay value.
+ lots of content for the money. (around 5$). you can clearly see that a lot of effort went into this game.

- just dont expect any story. as you probably guessed - it has none.
- its rather grindy. have played for 50 hours and unlocked 50% of all achivements and half of all playable characters.

* its "bullet hell" but its not ridiculously hardcore as something like Touhou where you need to dodge on pixel-perfect level, so its still very playable by anyone.

not terrible. but another rather mediocre RPGMaker title.

the only thing that I liked is the cover art of the game in the steam store. which sadly has nothing to do with the game. As it just doesn't exists in the game.
Which makes it looks like a desperate click bait.
..And the game has no nudity so why even bother using suggestive picture for a steam store?

TLDR: you can STILL play this game with 4 player couch versus.

But the game may not launch on windows 11 due to bugs (as was for me. had to spend several hours to fix it.)
+ this game just has low content so I'm not even sure if it was worth it.

If only it would be updated and slightly more content added - this game could be so much more...
For example - there is a mode where you run to the other side of the screen - but this local match option is only supported with bots in your and enemy's team, not with couch real players. WHY?

it's funny that there is a "crash to desktop" spell in-game, when the game does this automatically once per hour on average for me.

With that being said, the game is great (if you are okay with restarting the game once per hour. which is torture.)
And you will actually feel like a wizard here, and not just grinding for the sake of pointless upgrading your skills as other games do.
This game nails very well the spellcasting mechanic in terms of combining the elements.

I would recommend the game but in the state it was left its just unplayable -> VERY buggy (a HUGE crashfest).
