After playing The Room, I picked this up at full price ($5) and don't regret it. That's less than a typical movie, and it took a few hours to complete. I recommend it at that price, but you'll get a great deal in a Steam Sale.

It has a lot of great puzzles, making you take a moment to think about the next step, and in some cases a single revelation allows you to steamroll remaining puzzles in the room.

It does have some problems, mostly due to being a phone/tablet game ported to the PC.
- The mouse-only controls can get annoying when viewing items; some sort of axis modifier/holder would greatly improve this
- What can be interacted, and how, is too often guessing/random clicking. As an example: one puzzle was started by rotating an existing knob, but the knob resembled previous puzzles where you had to find the missing half of it. Randomly trying to interact I somehow missed being able to turn it, and it took a hint for me to try again and move on.
- Some interactions were repeated multiple times in the same location and became tedious. One puzzle sequence requires you to type out words many times, and is made all the more annoying by forcing you to type with the mouse (rather than allowing you to just use your own keyboard to type it out)

If there's a Room Three, it would be great for these to be addressed.

Good afternoon killer, with some great "aha!" moments.

I do wish they had expanded controls a bit; the mouse gets annoying when you have to examine items from multiple angles.

What I expected: Abstract and disjointed Stanley Parable

What I got: A rich tapestry expressing the understanding or wishful understanding of one's life, painted not with colors or adjectives or photos but in games and commentary with revelations therein. A journey that has an ending without a conclusion, that tries to explain itself then admits it may not be able to.

Sadness and confusion, both from and for the game, a lack of understanding that I feel I understand. I saw more of myself in it than I would have liked, and perhaps will admit, and not from any single source.

The Beginner's Guide will not help you in game-creation, or puzzle solving, or life, but it is a guide that should be used regardless. After all, there is no ending without a beginning.

A very short but extremely enjoyable puzzle game. Well worth the $1 (regular) asking price for anyone wanting a deceptively simple brain teaser, even if the entire thing takes under an hour to complete.

I would love to see an editor so people could make and share puzzles; just an editor with a good discovery system would be worth $5 or more. Just imagine, an entire afternoon solving nothing but penis-shaped hook puzzles. And dank memes everywhere. You could get hooked quite easily, I think.

Transistor brings more of the amazing atmosphere and ongoing narration that people loved in Bastion, with an even more incredible soundtrack. The combination real-time/turn-based combat allows for deep strategy and will keep you switching up your selected functions (and the functions that modify them) to find a play style that suits you best.

It is sadly quite linear: all battle encounters are static locations (though the enemies can change based on your level) and there are only one or two very small optional areas. And, unless you missed a few corners of interaction or side rooms with static art (like the opening image,) the only reason to play again is for the sake of achievements; there's not even minor alternate endings like Bastion. (And, when you see the ending, you'll probably wish there was.)

That said, the positives of combat, music, and story vastly outweight the negatives of linearity and low-replay value, and I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a short, strategic brawler or just more of what they loved from Bastion. The soundtrack itself is excellent all its own, so even if you don't go for the game you should pick up the soundtrack.
