Perfect little puzzle game. Took just under an hour to 100%, but there were many epiphanies about the mechanics along the way. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Received in August 2021 Humble Choice. Just beat it in one sitting, as I was completely in love with it. Not much to say other than you should absolutely play this, but try not to read or watch anything about it beforehand. I'm very happy that I had an unspoiled playthrough.

Early Access Review
This is a spectacular game. I've been a fan since Siralim 1 and happily Kickstarted this. So far, I'm 60 hours in (on version 0.8) and I can say that this is the best entry in the series. Each patch has been massive, and content is flowing in at a ridiculous rate.

If you haven't played before, Pokemon is a sort-of frame of reference. The earlier Siralim games were closer to Pokemon in that they required manually catching monsters that you encounter, along with variable success rates. In Ultimate, this has been smoothed out. Monsters are auto-captured based on the number of times you have seen them. Most monsters are captured the first time you encounter them, while others require numerous encounters.

The real point of this game is creature traits. Every single monster (and there are currently over 1,200) has a unique trait that affects the battle in some way. Some are always active, while some trigger in response to actions (i.e. an enemy attack, a creature death). Each creature has one innate trait. Any two creatures can be fused together, producing a creature with both traits. Finally, each creature can be equipped with an artifact that can also have a trait.

With six creatures on your team, this means that you can have wildly different setups. Some teams can end a battle before any creature takes a turn. Other teams wait for many turns (like in a Reaver setup) and slowly build up power.

On top of the creatures, there are currently 25 specializations, each of which have completely different playstyles. You can unlock all of them on a single save file and switch between them fluidly. This means that you can really experience all parts of the game on a single save without feeling like you made a mistake and are locked out of sections.

Overall, I love this game. I've already recommended it to a few friends. Even if development were to suddenly stop tomorrow, it's already an excellent game. The fact that there's a ton more content promised from the Kickstarter is very exciting.

This is an excellent rhythm sequencer. It is intuitive and flexible in a way that most rhythm programmers lack. What I really enjoy about it is the concept of rhythm evolution, where the atomic parts of a more complex rhythm can be refined individually, either globally or over time.

It's surprising, too, in how well it caters to various genres of music. A lot of rhythm generators tend to really focus on 4/4 time signatures and duple/triple divisions, but it's pretty easy to take this into experimental territories. Check it out!
