Had to come back and review this one. I love absurdist philosophy games but this one just missed the mark. The minigames are long and drawn out, repetitive, and don’t respect the player’s time. You’ll get a few chuckles and might enjoy the references but this feels like 2.2hr steambait. If you want a game that captures this but understands the spirit of the trolley problem, Trolley Problem Inc. is miles better and will leave a much longer lasting impression on you

If you'd told me one of my favorite parts of a game would be stopping every day to pray for an unskippable 60 seconds I'd never believe you. but here we are

Hades/Smash Bros. comparisons are pretty accurate, very fluid gameplay, weapons w alternate forms, fun upgrades that are nods to smash (like getting the ability to wavedash or DI). good pick up and play high dopamine game :)

Early Access Review
I'm absolutely loving this game. It's so delighfully unsettling - the expansive, empty open world that's always set to night time, the unexplained robots that all come pre-loaded with the same emotionless "yeah" voice line that you hear over and over, the other NPCs that have surprisingly funny dialogue; this game is a keeper for sure, and a steal at $9. I've had so much fun streaming it to my friends and laughing over whatever crazy thing happens. The games are diverse and challenging and don't feel rigged, and have a surprisingly lasting amount of fun in them.

Some suggestions (other than the obvious "more arcade games!!!"):
-Let me rotate held items in place like GMod! The amount of time I've spent arranging my prizes on the shelves so they look good can be frustrating
-On that, let me furnish my garage? I would love more tables and shelves to properly display all my winnings.
-Let me change my swan's bowtie? I'm so happy she's here and she was such a pleasant surprise and I want more of her. Let me take her on walks maybe???

I love this game so much, 10/10: the game you don't know you want, until you have it and everything is right

I want to start my review with this: Battleborn is a good game. Battleborn is a beautifully crafted game, with so much love that went into it. I can describe my experience with battleborn as a love affair that started passionately and ended with me broken-hearted. I, while loving Battleborn with all my heart, cannot recommend it to someone looking for a game with the pricetag it offers. Even at a lowered cost, I cannot in honesty recommend it to anyone, and that makes me sad. I've always told people to try Battleborn before claiming it worse than Overwatch, but I can't do that anymore. In its state, it is near impossible to recommend. Its player count seldom peaks higher than 1,100. Match times, while improving with updates, can still take 10 minutes with generosity. Battleborn plays beautifully. The characters are intricate. The story, while lackluster, is fun. Match types are unique (mostly) and maps are beautifully crafted (with one exception in PVP and one exception in PVE), and matches are fun. I have so much fun playing Battleborn. It is a good game. It is unrecommendable. I will try to squeeze as many hours as I can in game, but no, I will not recommend it.

Seriously. This game is amazing. I've spent five hours on this so far, but I'm sure that five will soon become ten, ten becoming 100, and who knows, this might pass my hours in The Binding of Isaac. Currently around 180 for those curious. This game is seriously one of the most stressful ones I've ever played, if not THE most stressful. You'll be cringing as you make a bad decision, depleting your hull from 100% down to 50%, or killing one of your crewmembers. And when you die, it'll hurt you. You put so much effort into that ship. You spent an hour getting to sector 7, and you were so close the the final sector! But that's gone now. It just doesn't exist. All that's left is a highscore, and a desire for vengence. And you'll keep trying. And then, you'll notice you've skipped five days playing this brilliant game. Yeah. Now go buy this.
