JDRumble gambling games are bad. Poorly coded/optimised, lacking the full betting options of their real-life counterparts, stay away!

Great idea hampered by often poor game design - particularly finding some of the NPCs to give you missions is pretty opaque, a lot of the real estate for the casinos players buy is in the middle of nowhere in terms of proximity to other game content, and the interface is pretty clunky when it comes to handling network time-outs (I have to restart the whole game 90% of the time).

It is a great idea there, so I'm still playing. As a poker fan I really like playing poker with money I earnt in-game elsewhere instead of losing all my irl money playing real poker, or playing poker on a poker-exclusive app where you the money you're betting has no value attached to it.

EDIT: the dev team responded below and are working diligently, two thumbs up!

This game has lots of charm and is very heavy with witty dialogue. However, this game is also pay-to-win to the very core, and no amount of witty dialogue can save it.

The problem is, to sustain the amount of labour they've put into the clever dialogue, the game slows down to a crawl after the first few girls, because otherwise it would be over way too shortly. Now I literally do not give a ♥♥♥♥ about the personalities or unique traits of any of the girls, and skip the dialogue.

I don't mind free-to-play games as long as I don't feel too coerced into micro-transactions. I love Clicker Heroes and am 96% of the way through the achievements because that is the case - you can have consistent fun and stimulation with it even if you aren't spending truckloads of money on it (and as a result when I do spend money on it from time to time it doesn't feel like my arm was twisted).

I feel coerced by this game. Everytime I boot up this game, I immediately start thinking 'oh my god, this is so slooooooooow... if only I spent like... $5 on it... and maybe another $5.... hmm...'.

That being said, as I have an addictive personality I'm still trying to finish it, I should really just uninstall it and never engage with it again.

This game doesn't really feel like other clicker/idle games I've tried out. Out of all of them, this one requires the most actual strategising and researching to get through the levels as quickly and efficiently as possible. Like - what kind of build should you choose, what the pros/cons of each build is, what relics/quests you should prioritise, etc.

Many times I found myself in situations where I had a failed experiment in how to get through the game faster, and it rendered a few days progress moot, and I had to tinker around with things more.

Despite it being kind of ridiculous in concept like every other ''incremental progress game'', the endless grind etc, it has a lot more depth in gameplay than most.

The terrible gameplay actually makes the game better as a narrative and aesthetic experience, trust me.

Pros: great 1990s ~~cyber-world~~ aesthetic, great soundtrack, imaginative storyline, david bowie is in it.

Cons: hella dated game design. Controls are unplayable in 2014, can be kinda mitigated by Xpadder (check the Community Guides) but even then they handle awkwardly, it shouldn't be such a chore just to walk around effectively. Save system is terrible, but its annoyingness can be fixed by downloading an Omikron save editor. Inventory system feels clunky.

Conclusion: when is David Cage going to remake this game with modern controls and a non-masochistic save system?? Thanks.
