what an absolute privilege to be walking around in an interactive deathbulge cartoon[www.deathbulge.com]

it pains me to say that this game suffers from feature creep & straight up ain't fun after the first 5 hours.

they struck gold with the combination of diving & running a restaurant, but before really fleshing out those two game play elements they slapped on a shallow story & boring fetch quests.
let the player decide if & when they want to hear more about a characters background by letting them interact with said character, don't force an interactive cut scene that takes way too long & completely skips running the restaurant for that day.
hasn't been since stardew valley that I forgot to feed myself whilst gathering & preparing food for others, those elements work tremendously. cook the KISS

the music is chill for a bit, but quickly becomes repetitive
the intense quick time events have no place in an otherwise relaxing dive
"rogue like elements"? nah dog, it's the same hole

stop Dave, I'm afraid.

first time around I let Hades' attitude towards the player really get under my skin & stopped playing after raging at the boss a few times, haha

really glad I picked it up again with a slightly thicker skin, reset my profile & played it through

solid puzzle platformer with a fun & unique game mechanic.
loved the title card & the 'tutorial' is silky smooth.

how do you mess up the name Excalibur in the main menu for switching weapons‽
... it's only the most famous sword ever.

having a background in graphic design & a love for typography I may be overly critical for this game's shortcomings. & if I wanted to be pedantic & spend the time I could go on & on.

the menu featuring all status effects doesn't have a scrollbar & therefore doesn't show all available information on status effects... the thing it was designed to do, making playing this an obtuse nightmare.

some things are lost in translation & I embrace that fully. other things are lost in bad quality control.

0/10 avoid like yellow snow.
