I'm confident MSFS 2024 will get to the point where I can recommend but I certainly expected it to be more polished at launch. Yes, not including mouse capability for connecting to xbox was quite the blunder but it certainly wasn't the only one.

The flight model certainly seems improved although I don't have much time with it (I fly planes for a living). Mountain wave can be a bit drastic at times and ground effect seems to be a bit exaggerated but I need to do more testing. The graphics are also as advertised which is certainly beautiful. That's really about all I have nice to say so far though.

I tried to fly at my home airport (which is decent size and has commercial operations) and I must say it is far less accurate than it was in MSFS 2020 and that's not saying much. The sat images are essentially stamped on the ground of where the real taxiways and runways are but MSFS has put them in a different spot. The tower frequency has now been relegated to the same frequency as ground, despite it being accurate in 2020. The ATIS is now an ASOS despite being in hours of operation and it sounds nothing like an ASOS with improper phraseology. Also the career CFI says runway thirtyfour, it should be runway three-four. Some might think this is a small gripe but it will irk any pilot.

The controls are a downgrade from MSFS 2020, there are option missing that were in 2020 (carb heat for example). It is nice that you can map controls based on aircraft but I set mine up to apply to all and then used the exact same plane in a landing challenge and my controls were completely gone. Anyone that has played a flight sim before knows just how long it takes to map controls on a bunch of different devices and how frustrating it is when the game seemingly deletes them.

There's lots of new content, and apparently not all of it downloaded the first time because despite my original review stating all the landing challenges are repeats of the old one, I was simply missing the two dozen or so new ones. The big gripe I do have for landing challenges is they took away the breakdown (centerline, precision, softness), which is a massive unnecessary blunder.

They tried to streamline the menu interfaces which has caused more harm than good.

Was extremely disappointed with the amount of content released at launch for how expensive the game was. There won't be any additional content as the studio shut down, requested a refund but it got denied. Game was an absolute waste of money and a case study on how not to manage a game.

Democracy always wins, even when the automatons at Sony try and stop it.

Pros:
It is NFS Hot Pursuit
There is cross play so you have enough people to play the game with.

Cons:
Terrible and lazy remaster
Added modes suck and get drawn way more often than hot pursuit
You don't really get an option as far as which game mode you want to play because the quick match matchmaking is seemingly seperated from those who create a match.
No support for 144hz, seriously?
Overall visual improvements are minimal over the original.
The stability seems far worse
The desync can be brutal

In conclusion the only bright spot is that it is still hot pursuit, one of the best NFS multiplayer experiences of all time, otherwise EA could not have put in any less effort. Seems like it was a project for the interns.

Some good ol' fashioned cold war era fun. The wargame series is one of the few series where it gets considerably better everytime. While Naval doesn't have quite the best balance in 10 v 10 multiplayer due to the effectiveness of spamming ASM planes, everything else seems to work really well. Crazy variety of units and factions, not to mention beautiful fights to watch when you're not too busy managing reinforcements.

It pains me dearly to thumb down this once great game. I hadn't played it in well over a year since the guys I used to play it with haven't been on much. This was one of my favorite free to play games back in the day but after giving it a quick play earlier today I had a rude awakening. They completely ♥♥♥♥ on the mechanics that had originally made the game popular. It went from an ingenious invention based fast paced combat game to a piece of ♥♥♥♥ pay to win flat game that belongs to that grayed out group of games you've uninstalled. I could explain all the issues that lead this game to its sad current state or I could just link you this https://robocraftgame.com/forums/topic/this-game-has-gone-further-and-faster-downhill-than-a-crack-addict/ that explains it perfectly.
