This game was such a blast when it was active. Definitely still worth picking up on sale if you like asymmetrical games and you've got a friend group you'd like to try something new with.

Community activity has definitely fallen off, so it's not a game with a consistent player base at this point.

This is a game that I really wish got a longer time in the spotlight than what it got.

Incredible. An absolute master class in restoring faith from your community.

A game so good that it got nearly a quarter of a million players to take part in a real world operation to save the game (and subsequently super earth.)

I adore this game, I really do.

There are a lot of memey reviews here, but let me get to the point.

This game is infuriating. But I recognize this game is also art. In bringing together a great number of junk entities in a game, woven in a tapestry of chaos in its landscape. This game does something that so few games do, challenge you.

And I don't mean challenge you to a 1v1, where veritable skill levels or weaponry or what have you make for a potentially non leveled playing field. This game challenges YOU, on the technical level, on the reflex level, and on a mental level. It's the same challenge for everyone, and yet each persons journey is ever so slightly different.

You will rage, you might cry, you will almost definitely curse, and you may not even beat the game. Most people don't. I haven't yet. I have screamed the name of Bennett Foddy into the void more times than I can properly remember, but I know that I can be proud of my progress. Because even if I haven't reached the top yet, I know that my progress is my own, and I earned it.

But I do know that if I ever reach the top, the experience will be one I'll remember forever, and one that no one will ever be able to tarnish.


TL;DR: Game make angwy, vewy angwy, but game is ultimately good. Game hard, which makes it rewarding.
