Its a good game if you like voice actors and unique art for characters. Theres a lot of cliche character tropes and thats kind of charming at times, sometimes its overbearing.

The game just feels too straightforward and shallow.

A character asks me if I want to go somewhere, but theres no option to say no and end the conversation because hes creeping me out.
A character is overly sexual and I cant say no thats not what I want please stop.
A character tells me to come see them 'later' but means 'any other time but today'.

The game feels a little hollow with its current gameplay loop. I think it could be done a lot better and cleaner.

I wanna also add, my PC is high end and i get lag walking around the house, i can feel the game isnt 60 fps (Also borderless window isnt borderless windowed)

I get the vision and as much as I want a mobile base building game, I dont think this is for me. The tutorial sort thing took too long (it said a whole lot but done nothing) and once I got to the building it felt so heavy and clunky, i know its early access but I feel like the building system is one thing you cant exactly overhaul in any meaningful capacity post release without corrupting a lot of players saves.

Once the most launch bugs and stuff have been fixed I am going to check the game out, its promising, just isnt there for me yet.

Side note, the piloting chair for the hut is all boney and stuff and I feel like decorating around that whilst trying to aim for a cute cottage core vibe would be so hard. Also i put the old womans chair outside cause shes an eye soar

Such a polished release from the jump. I hope the game continues to get updates and modding support. Id love to see procedural worlds too

best movement shooter ever, so fast and fun

I hope they increase stamina or movement speed a bit more, and that capturing the point will pause the count down of it. I would also like team mates to help revive/capture points to speed the time (and then increase how long the timer takes maybe)

Edit: I came nearly a year later (feb 2025) with 310 hours logged from when i first played. I see why I stopped playing. Its fast paced sure but health gets shredded too quick and death timers are too long for that to be okay. I had such high hopes when this game released but I do see why its fading into unpopularity.
I will also add there are a billion and one pop ups, way too much going on, its way too egregious with all the various battle passes and such (like fortnite)
I hope this game finds its footing but I have a feeling the ship has sailed. Perhaps in some time we will see The Finals 2, and itll do everything better.

ill pay any amount of money for DLC, i crave more

This game has so much to do but i cant help but feel that a life sim element would add to it, so i hope someone mods that in

Sure theres some bugs at the moment, but there are ways around it.

Anyone saying the game is unplayable clearly hasnt been playing it.

The main thing I wanna say is that the devs know the bugs, they are working on them, they have even explained what causes them so the issues can be avoided

So just do that and you will enjoy the game, and you wont be missing any content.


Long part
The easy build doesnt work. It breaks any ship other than the one they give you in the tutorial. Even then, you can break that ship with it. Easy build just got added, its got growing pains. Should it have it been added in this state? Yes, this is early access, thats what this is for. Testing and working out the pains.
You get 10 of the starter ships, not sure why but they are cheap and basic. Very bare bones.
I saw someone complaining in the discord that they had broken all 10 of their tutorial ships and had no money. Entirely hard locking themselves.

I cannot fathom how you can mess yourself up this much. to break your ship 10 times?

The main 2 building methods (before the easy builder) ARE intimidating, im not saying thats not the case. However, you use your basic ship to earn resources and money. You can just buy a ship or you could follow an hour tutorial video on youtube which really helped me (youll easily find it). Thats for the workshop ship builder which is incredibly detailed yet intimidating. But after an hour of messing around in it, i felt more than confident in it.

The next building method is more hands on, you craft the pieces you need, place them and bolt them. I feel the game intends you to use the workshop to make the ship and then improve upon the design with the manual building one.
Both these are very good, yet intimidating, I wont fault anyone for being afraid of using them. I will however fault people who wont give it a good go or try to learn it.

EDIT: That was all written at 50 Hours in. Im now 150 in and I think its amazing

Multiplayer isnt a feature that shold be advertised right now.
