Vomitoreum -- Boomer Shooter meet Metroidvania, an unusual but effective combination. Both genres complement each other surprisingly well. The fast, response movement and the emphasis on level design of a classic shooter complements the environmental navigation and unique landmarks of a Metroidvania.

With about a 2.5 hour runtime the game never overstays its welcome, and constant new content keeps the game feeling fresh throughout.

I look forward to future games from Scumhead!

Psychonauts combines a zany art style with charmingly eccentric characters and an original premise to create one of the most creative platformers on the market. The story centers aroung Raz, a young psychic with big ambitions. Almost every level has a unique idea or mechanic, each based off of a character in the game. Some of these levels are platforming challenges, others are adventure-game style puzzles (in a good way), and each is different. Once you get past some of the first levels and get used to the craziness, Psychonauts is a real treat.

Play the game with a controller for best results.

Skyrim may not have great combat. Skyrim may not have a great main quest. But it's not a game defined by these things. Skyrim, is, at it's core, a game of adventure. It's bursting at the seams with places to explore, quests to complete, and factions to join. If you are looking for fantasy adventure with plenty of side activities and places to explore and get lost in, Skyrim is a game for you.

In addition, it has a very active and dedicated mod community keeping it alive.

This game is the perfect waiting aid. Installing a big game and don't to use a lot of processing power? Devil Daggers. Waiting to join a friend in a multiplayer lobby when their match ends? Devil Daggers. Have a few minutes to kill but not enough to play longer games? Devil Daggers. Don't know what else to play? Devil Daggers.

It's a fast, action packed game of endurance that pits you against an endless stream of demonic monsters in an attempt to squeeze a few more seconds onto your high score. You'll be using a lot of fps tactics of old as you bunny hop, strafe, and dagger jump around the map in order to gain an edge. Your weapon has two fire modes that allow you to either cut through hoards of enemies like butter, or go in for a takedown. As you might have guessed from my choice of words, this game is immensely satisfying to play once you get the gameplay down.

If you are looking for a game with deep gameplay and mind-bending puzzles, look esewhere. If, however, you are looking for a short game that uses its systems to establish a unique story, buy it.

I don't want to spoil too much, but at one point I was taken off guard and legitimately scared by Pony Island when it broke the fourth wall. I didn't even know what it did was possible.

This game is art in the classical sense as well as in a gameplay sense. As you can tell from the store page, the graphics are beautiful, and some of the views in-game are breathtaking. The gameplay itself is much like the graphics, fluid and artful when done correctly. Some parts will require simple endurance to get through, but these parts are fairly far between and when completed invoke a true sense of accomplishment. The game itself is a bit short (a few of my hours I spent afk) so pick this masterpiece up on sale. You almost certainly won't regret it.

Early Access Review
Though it isn't the complete Half-Life experience (no Xen) this game is still a blast to play and is long enough that it's certanly worth the price. Gunplay is great, the graphics are colorful and modern. Play on hard without manually saving for maximum challenge.

For the most part, people either really like this game, or don't get it. If you are seriously considering getting it, don't watch a lets-play, as it ruins the joy and surprize of discovery.

Some of the best value you can get from a game that isn't multiplayer focused. I have had two main characters over the years and still haven't done everything.

Only play this with friends. The simple gameplay is constantly plagued by lag and bugs.
