tl;dr
It's an overpriced expansion to MW2 that gives a legal aimbot to controller users and crashes all the time.

I'm going to relaunch the game now and play another dozen hours in it because life is pain.

8/10 wait for a sale to buy.

Alright, now that I've been able to play the game and beat it...

It's really good.

It isn't a 1:1 remake (obviously) and I enjoy the original just as much as the remake.
Capcom really pulled through with this, though. The interactions between Leon and Ashley, Ada, etc. is much more in depth and... real? I don't know. It just fits the story better. Ashley isn't super annoying anymore, and it's cool to see her character growth throughout the story.

I wasn't super jazzed about some of the voices this time around, but then others fit better than before, so it was kind of weird... Merchant was really disappointing at first, but then kind of grew on me over time. Luis' voice is... I don't know, just not as fitting as the original in my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinion. Krauser's was alright, but goes off the rails later on. Like... dude is supposed to be a hardened military vet and then goes full insane-o mode. Original was better. Other than that, voices were good.

STILL be aware that you may have crashing problems, as far as I know D3D ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ error is still common.

I was stoked about this game, even bought it for my brother, too. But let me tell you, it's not the Quake you're thinking of. If I see one more jackass saying they're some 40+ year old who's a die hard Quake fan since the first game praising this garbage, I'm going to pull my hair out. This is a Quake inspired Overwatch game mode with a price tag of $30 at the moment. I want to like this game. I really do. 50+ hours of trying really hard to believe I could like it. Enough is enough, I'm done. I love Quake. Not this Quake.

Also, the developer is listed as id Software on the store page. This is misleading. Well... kind of an outright lie. It's Saber Interactive behind this dumpster fire. Go look at their track record, it'll tell you all you need to know about where this project is heading.

For the four hours I was able to play (only 3.3 in the last two weeks), I had fun. Then, I log in one day to find I'm banned. Apparently there was a wave of bans that was incorrectly carried out and reversed in a few hours. But that can't happen again, right? That's what I've been told, anyways. I haven't been shown any proof of anything, customer service hasn't gotten back to me in six days now(I don't count their insulting automated response) and to top it off, I had just spent more money on the freakin' game by buying keys to open a couple cosmetic item crates. If I were a hacker, why would I spend money on that? Wouldn't I just hack that in for myself or something? I've not been banned from any other game before. (my profile is public and you can see for yourself) You're gambling with your money on this one, just buy DayZ, Seven Days to Die, I'll even suggest Miscreated, or you know, anything else besides this. Even if my account is unbanned (highly unlikely given the attitude of anyone involved with Daybreak I've talked to so far) I can't recommend this game. Not after all the trouble I've had to go through just to be sneered at and told I'm a dirty hacker.

The game is around a 6/10 (enjoy it before you're banned), but Daybreak gets a 1/10.
