Indie, or Independent music is music that is produced outside the realm of popular record labels like Columbia or RCA. Independent artists pave their own way without the leg-ups from famous brand names that can get you on the radio and turn you into a hit.Independent music is like diamonds in the rough. It sounds better when you find it where you wouldn’t expect it. Once you discover the unique sounds that are difficult to find, it is like a relief; it sounds better because it isn’t played on every station (you aren’t getting SICK of hearing it), and because it is something unlike the cookie-cutter pop cacophony we are forced to listen to day in and out due to convenience.
