There is no other game like Rimworld. The amount of customisation and mods make this game possible to enjoy for just about anyone. If you like colony simulation, management or sandbox style of games you can't miss out on Rimworld.

This game is not what I was expecting. The diving aspect of it was what made me interested in the first place, I didn't think I'd enjoy managing the sushi restaurant as much as I do. It's a really great pairing of motivations to keep you playing. "Dive deeper to get rarer fish, to make more money selling more luxury sushi, to buy better diving gear to dive deeper."

There are some things I really don't like. A lot of the dialogue and smart phone stuff drives me nuts. I really wish there was a sandbox mode or something where you could avoid a lot of the stories and character interactions. In saying that, the pixel art cut scenes are amazing.

I love that this game just drops you in the deep end and forces you to learn from your mistakes. The build and item systems are deep, meaning your learn something new on every play through and can craft a character that feels unique every time. The game's economy and events happening in the world don't care about you and will carry on even if you aren't partaking.

Each play through gives you the potential to tell a different story with your character, the game is simply a vehicle for the adventure you want to take. There's heaps of ways to earn money and experience. You can be a crook, complete mercenary contracts, discover treasures in crypts, be a grave robber, even crafting and mercantile is becoming more viable with the recent updates. I am about to start a new play through and I'm almost as excited planning how I'm going to play as I am actually playing it.

For a lot of people the main thing stopping them playing is the art style of this game, but personally I think that it's charming and nostalgic. The palette and stylistic choices are beautiful and compliment the theme of the game well. Musically, the game punches well above it's weight, the tracks wouldn't sound out of place in a GOTY AAA title. Sound effects and sound design are also on point.

The game still isn't perfect, sometimes when playing the game it's clear that it's not finished yet, but this is no secret. So if you're not someone who can deal with a little bit of missing content or reaching the content wall maybe wait for the full release. Otherwise, if you want an immersive, brutal, mercenary sandbox set in a rich fantasy world, this game is the best of the best.

Halls of Torment had me hooked from my first run. I think that this is definitely the best survivor-like on the market right now. The graphics are awesome, gives a really nostalgic feel and suits the style of the game brilliantly. The SFX and music are both satisfying and give the game heaps of atmosphere. Makes Vampire Survivors look like a clunky piece of crap in comparison.

Each character plays in their own unique way, I find it really addictive trying different types of builds. Each character and item combination adds another fun experiment, trying to get a crazy build will work. The item system adds an interesting change up to the way your character and build works. Each stage presents a unique challenge and set of enemies that make it fun to learn.

For $5US, the game already punches well above it's weight. If they keep adding new characters, items and stages I think I'll be able to keep playing this game forever. Must buy for fans of the survivors genre.

Don't let the simplicity of Aesprite fool you, this program has everything you need to produce quality assets fast without weighting you down.

100% recommended for anyone looking to learn digital art or create stylised art for their games.

A unique take on a turn based combat and character management. Rather than managing a whole party and choosing the adventure, you are forced to choose between, trying to survive and taking risks to improve your standing with those who are calling the shots. I didn't feel bad for dying because the next play through you are given boons from your previous save. I don't want to spoil to much so just try it!
