Great game! Hard to put down from start to finish.

Battles are better than Pokemon, in that there's more strategy involved in choosing your lineups, and you can't expect to win every major battle with the same team. Monster skill trees are a cool way to customize your team without having to grind too much, and the availability of resets means you don't have to worry about choosing the "wrong" skills. The platforming and little puzzles in each area make it interesting enough that it never feels repetitive.

Writing is unfortunately a little on the bland side. It felt a bit like a kid's cartoon show, with weirdly expositional lines inserted into each villain's dialogue. Music was also not up to par with the rest of the game, imo. The pixel art is pretty great, but some monsters are missing attack animations, so it's a little jarring to see them just freeze up for a second while attacking (e.g. Raduga).

Overall, though, still a very enjoyable game! Definitely worth full price.

Decent game with great visuals.
Fairly short.
The perk/level system is such that by the time you unlock the next set of perks, you've already maxed out the previous tier, so picking perks doesn't feel like you're customizing the character at all.
The lore-based collectibles (echoes) are sometimes very brief or complete non-sequiturs, and don't really offer enough insight into the SW universe to bother chasing.
Not particularly replayable, given the above.

Recommend waiting for a sale.
