Stay away!

Its absolutely just a cash grab of confusing options and different versions that feel like they do the same but in the end they don't.

Getting multiplayer to even remotely work requires a PHD - you need the Trainz PLUS version to get proper multiplayer, amazing, I bought the platinum edition and it doesn't even have proper multiplayer. Want the download station (think about steam workshop but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with only 240x180 pixel JPG preview pictures) better create a pack of all the items you want and get permission from all the authors and then do a repack - upload it - wait for minimally a week to get it approved and then you can use the content (maybe, I didn't get that far)

Its just so stupidly complicated - instead of just hosting something on your pc that syncs up with your friends to play with and have access to your content they instead have everything in the cloud wich constantly breaks. And why require weird content packs which it feels like a regular player can't create, instead of just letting you donwload the missing DLS content when joining a session?

(I know why, because making this such a hassle encourages people to buy DLC for multiplayer instead of using the free content from DLS)

Just save yourself the time and headache to get all of this to work - if you buy a pack like a DLC you most likely wont be able to refund it as you cant download your DLC via steam - only ingame so you will get over the 2 hours. I got over the time limit downloading DLCs and trying to make multiplayer work.

Get TRS 2006, at least you will get more content in the base game that here with the platinum edition.
