A very slow romp through an interesting looking world, but in general, just a walking sim in a weird stylized world...

Can't pickup anything for inventory, can't accomplish anything, just blah...

Long story short: Aliens? Check! Dual wielding shotguns? Check (eventually)! Blatant tribute to NES Classic? Double Check!!! Really enjoyable, shortish game with just the right amount of direction to help you figure out what you need to do without spoon feeding it to you and minimal forcing you to do things in a certain order. Challenging, yet beatable and who didn't want some kind of 2 player zelda back in the day?

Thoroughly enjoyed this throwback to the NES games of old. It really feels exactly like someone took away Link's sword and gave him a shotgun, and sure the extra range is great sometimes, but it still manages to maintain a certain level of difficulty. Although not too long of a game and not too many different enemy types there is some really nice variance and a solid distinction between the "classes" of enemies so you can tell when you're facing a slightly harder opponent.

The game features both steam cards and 40 in-game collectible cards, which adds to the depth of the game itself as steam cards are basically time-dependant handouts, these cards are dropped by enemies when they've been killed enough times (or on death for a boss card). Easy to get all the achievements and besides one heck of a final boss battle, almost what felt to me as a perfect balance through the game.

Recent updates seem to improve the game balance, fix some bugs and just speed some things up (loading of the flappy fish minigame down to 3 seconds instead of 5 or something like that). Although I stated that the final boss battle was brutal, I'd like to point out that it also had me on the edge of my seat and vibrating with adrenaline when I finally beat it. Just the right mix of speed and brutality to drag it out and yet deliver the endorphine rush we all want out of a good boss battle!

What else can I say? Perfect 8-bit style gfx, great music that fits and has some variance but could have more. Typical old school pathing using attained weapons and powerups to get past and/or kill certain enemies. Weirdest part is you don't (or atleast I didn't) get the world map until long after you've been frustratedly wondering where the heck you've been multiple times and just staring at this cocky red dot in the middle of a blank map...

I love wipeout/f-zero style games, so naturally I figured this one should be a given... BUT this is a perfect example of how not to ever make a game of those style.

The lack of gamepad support sucks, but even moreso, the lack of any menu/tutorial/rebindable keyboard controls really is a low blow. I understand that this is a simple port from mobile, but this is an awful attempt at a clone of these games even if only meant for mobile, shouldn't have ever been released for PC without a little care taken to polish it up.

First level I played on the second lap all sound/music cut out and I started noticing the limited depth field in the rendering really start to affect my gameplay. Not only that, but the voice that tells you what you picked up is so faint and garbled it took until my second run through to be able to understand it saying shields and autopilot (which they also messed up), but still haven't caught on to the others, although knowing what they should be as it's a 1:1 wipeout clone.

The pickups are fairly visible, but the turbo pads and slowdown pads on the ground are so faint it's hard to see them until you're right on top of them, the autopilot doesn't function right, drove me right into a wall unassisted and although I prefer having some control over where I'm going unlike wipeout, doesn't do a good job of actually melding between your controls and autopilot as one would hope it's more like overriding autopilot until you stop hitting directions then it tries to force itself back to autopilot.

Slow for a wipeout clone, and no chance of catching AI once it passed you. Pretty sure that gamejolt connection is broken also.

Worst part: original wipeout on PS1 got the feel better than this, proper ship tilt and feel are the main feedback for your turning in this type of game, with this I felt like I was hovercar drifting without the drift... that doesn't even make sense!

Very nice schmup that plays quite different than most - Using mouse to aim around the screen,
and during the boss levels (every 5th level up to 25) you turn into a robot and gain the ability to jump.

Frequent updates lately have fixed most crashes I was having before and added some new weapons and other bonus' to the game.

The music gets stuck in my head so bad, I like it but I wish it would atleast change up a bit more in later levels.

Although not quite what I was expecting, I was quite delighted by this game. I'm still looking over my shoulder to make sure this isn't "The last starfighter" for some kind of deep-earth mine survey company...

All in all, it's a nice little story about a questionable cave and its lore revolving around cultists, miners and its ability to catch a soul and make it relive its past. It took about 4hr's to go through on the first run and I'm sure I could do it quicker, just not by much. No running in this game so the only way to cut corners would be to just know the path I need to take and start walking as directly as possible, although the new game+ is a nice feature.

My only issues would be having to hold down the trigger on my controller for ~4hrs straight and I ran into a bit of lag in some parts, but given that my computer is about 5 years old, that is to be understood and more my fault for scanning some parts a little to "thick". If you're looking for a chilling little story matched with an impressive visual style and only got about 4hrs to spare, this would be a great choice!
