Correction from my last post. **I generally don't take it from the side...** Taking stair stabs at an angle, rather than straight on is really reliable. Terminology.... lol.

Hey man, I was recording when you messaged me.
Stair stabs work better when you are directly over them. Even if you land directly on top of them, you can still get the stab. Landing it from the side is a bit more tricky and less reliable. The hitbox is harder to hit when going form the side. I generally don'ttake it at an angle unless it's a melee demo, in order to avoid the blow, but like I said, it's harder to land that way. So in short, directly overhead is better. Here's a great guide:
