The only good things that this DLC adds are sale star, good maps and music, and a cool boss fight. Other than that this DLC completely broke the game with no hopes of fixing it. Excluding all of the game-breaking bugs that make the game impossible to finish or even play at times, at it's core this DLC is horrible.
Apart from select few (Maybe 2) items, all the items in this DLC are so hyper specific for a negligible use-case and serve better as just scrap fodder. Especially after the amazing items we received in Survivors of the Void DLC, the items in this expansion are so boring and awful that it's not even worth spending the time talking about them.
The new elites are completely unfun and break the game. Gilded enemies, at their core idea, aren't bad: an enemy that takes away your gold when you shoot it at certain points. But why make them tankier than an overloaded enemy and hit harder than 5 stacks of collapse? It's genuinely impossible to kill gilded enemies, and did I mention they can show up as early as stage 3? I once got two gilded stone titans as a teleporter boss fight and after twenty minutes of trying to kill them I wasn't even halfway so I just decided to just abandon the run.
It's very obvious that this DLC was not quality tested at all and whoever came up with the ideas for these items just generated them with AI or a dice. I feel bad for anyone who contributed to this DLC by creating the maps or music, because I can't say anything bad about those, visually the maps look amazing and the scores are some of the best OSTs in the game. It sucks that the rest of the team didn't have the same passion for creating a good expansion to a beloved game as they did.
Overall, gearbox destroys everything it touches and I wish that it never existed.
