TellTale's final game before they truly tried to emulate the formula of TWD:S1 in vain succession. The Wolf Among Us is better than the titles that they had released after it, and I'm looking forward to it's sequel game. Story is good and the soundtrack is great.

It's okay. Originally didn't appeal to me and still doesn't. Best way I can describe it is that it's basically 2D MineCrap meets MegaMan. Not the game for me but I can see how it may appeal to others.

After applying the FixAll patch, this game's a keeper. Only complaint is that some enemy placements felt cheap at times, but if you were smart and learned from the encounter, you'd be able to get past it with at least keeping your gun-arm. I'm still far from completing this game (at the time this review was written, I was going to start part 1, chapter 9.)

This expansion is either one you'll love or you'll hate -- unfortunately, my feelings on it fall on the latter. Inb4 morons start commenting "l0l skill issue!!1!"-type comments?

At times it's frustratingly difficult, and at times very cheap (a dev going "he he ha" with enemy placements/numbers). It's got some good ideas, but some things were best left on paper (i.e. the Worm Pit and the survival section in the sewers).

The expansion starts off somewhat slow. It does begin to amp up the difficulty, but it does it by throwing a bunch of enemies at you instead of easing you into them like Half-Life 1 did. It doesn't help that certain encounters felt "cheap"; a lot of the time it's to catch you off guard and chip damage you, sometimes with enemies you cannot see right away (i.e. after you get the barnacle grapple). Not to say that Half-Life didn't have this at times also, but Opposing Force amps it up several degrees and makes it consistent throughout it's runtime.

A lot of encounters wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the designs of levels, enemy count in said levels and how stingy it is about health and even ammo at times. After the sewers bit where you had to fight those fat energy-spewing aliens that gang up on you and block the hallways of the sewer thus halting further progression, you're thrown into a "survive the horde" type of scenario where projectile-spitting enemies chip-damage you from afar until you close the metal doors, preventing them from furthering spawning. But then, after that, you're thrown back into maze-like hallways with MORE of the fat energy-spewing aliens. Did no one play-test this expansion?

It seems that this expansion is intended for those who just finished Half-Life and are looking for more of a challenge, but NONE of what I had previously mentioned was the way to do it. This expansion is not super forgiving.

What's more egregious is how the expansion does not clearly communicate what you're supposed to do at several points throughout. You then start to get frustrated because it's not super clear about where to go nor what you're supposed to do, so you try every last idea you can think of. You might think "oh but those types of 'puzzles' must only be here and there, right?" but no, it's a majority of the expansion.

A glaring example is when Freeman jumps into the portal -- at first, you might think to jump in and chase after him, right? That was Sheperd's mission in the first place after all. However, if you thought that, you would be wrong. If you attempt to jump into the same portal, you do enter Xen, but it spawns you in the sky (NOT on the platform) where you fall to your death. The first time you try this you might have assumed it was just a bug, especially considering the title card just says "C4M8Title", but after a few times you begin to think maybe your save's corrupted and are beginning to scramble. But then you notice the bridge with the scientist had collapsed and there's a portal at the very top of it. NONE of that is communicated with the player all the same. Again, did NO ONE play-test this expansion?

Due to the issues encountered with this expansion, I'm probably never going to complete it and don't recommend it for others.

Thanks for checking out my review. Peace.

What is My Ex Sister in Law?
My Ex Sister in Law is a fluff romance h-ish visual novel (more on this later). It was fine, taking ~50 minutes to do both endings. You can save on the options screen to try either ending. Only one of the two options results in either one of the, well, two endings: the normal ending and the true ending. Truth be told the visual novel left much to be desired.

The characters
If you're familiar with fluff romance type anime/manga/media, then you'll have a rough idea of what the characters are like. If you want a basic rundown of the characters: the male lead had a crush on the female lead for many years and is a h*rny plank of pulp paper who (I assume) is intended as a self-insert, while the female lead is the "kawaii/'grownup-yet-klutzy' onee-san"-type character.

The...transitions
If you ever used Windows movie maker, you'll get a rough idea of what the transitions are like lol. They're different every time and are very strange (like the squiggles one). It would've been better to settle on a few and keeping consistent rather than going with different ones throughout the ~50 minute runtime.

The CGs
They're okay. Nothing to really write home about. The only real nice one was for the female lead in the beginning of the story. The rest are okay at best, lacking and unmemorable at worst.

Stills and environments
The female lead stills are okay; however, her design is a bit too generic, making it unmemorable in my opinion. The background environments do look nice though.

The dialog
The dialog itself was fine, but did not appear to be proofread. There was off punctuation or a lack thereof at times, not to mention an instance of a word repeated twice ("Above above"). While on the topic of the dialog, let's discuss...

The voice acting
It was fine. Not the best but not the worst. It's an unexpected surprise to have an English voice actor read out for the female lead, but it felt like at times there was no direction given for how to deliver the lines given to them. Regardless of what some reviews may say, the male lead was mute and the female lead was NOT fully voiced. Sometimes when the dialog box was in the center of the screen with red text (indicating that the sister-in-law was speaking) the audio file for that line did not play. Despite having the sound for voice at max, the female lead was still very quiet and hard to understand at times.

The (two) endings
The visual novel could've done without the r18+ section in the true ending (and h*rny bits throughout the visual novel) in my opinion. It didn't seem necessary, and in case you're wondering about it it's with partial n*dity. The female lead is unclothed at one point but nothing graphic is shown on screen. Speaking of the endings, let's discuss...

The (two) endings (continued)
The only two endings. The biggest issue with them is that the "normal" ending seemed rushed (the two said their goodbyes, the main character moved to Korea with his brother and he lived happily-ever-after with a new wife, never associating with the female lead ever again), and the "true" ending seemed to drag on a bit due to the aforementioned r18+ section (then again I don't normally read hnovels nor expected this to turn into one, so what do I know?) The beginning of the visual novel throws you straight into the meat of the story, where the main character finds their house destroyed in the landslide. Neither ending is satisfying and left much to be desired in my opinion.

In conclusion
If you're looking for a super short fluff romance visual novel with s*xual content, I guess this is fine? Otherwise, I do not recommend it. I hope the developers keep these criticisms noted and improve in their next visual novel if they decide to work on another one.

Thanks for checking out my review. Peace.

Very atmospheric yet eerie soundtrack. If you liked the songs from the game or "Vague Voices" from Half-Life, this is a must-purchase.

This is a soft remake of the original Mk2 for PlayStation 3. It features Victory's combat system with some tweaks and with the licensed characters (e.g. Gust and Nisa) replaced with different ones; otherwise there is little to no major changes in the story.

Instead of Neptune in this installment, it features her younger sister Nepgear -- one of the CPU candidates of Planeptune and the main character of Re;birth 2/Mk2 -- based off the Sega GameGear, as well as the other CPU candidates Uni (younger sister of Noire, CPU proper of Lastation) who is based off the PlayStation Portable, and Rom and Ram (younger sisters of Blanc, CPU proper of Lowee) who are based off the Nintendo DualScreen.

If you had played Re;birth 1 you'll know what you'll be getting into when starting the second installment, with the remake system, lily system and etc.

Mk2/Re;birth 2 to me had always felt like the Neptunia game with the most serious story, due to having a more serious and engaging protagonist and major stakes at play compared to the others. If you want something humorous or bubbly, you may want to look into Re;birth 1 or Re;birth 3 instead; Mk2/Re;birth 2 does have those moments on occasion, but it feels more grounded than the others and the characters seem to understand the gravity of the situation they're in.

The only downsides is that there are fanservicey/ecchi CGs/moments in the game. If that's not your cup of tea then you may not want to start any of the Neptunia games in general as they're infamous for it.
The other downside is the amount of grind to progress the story and defeat bosses -- unless you get the DLC to make it easier and faster to level, it's going to be a time investment without question.
Another downside is the reuse of enemy/character/dungeons models from previous games, so it can get visually tiring after a while. The only variation is color-varied versions of the same enemy models with different stats.
Yet another downside (which is applied to mostly the other games) is the amount of meta humor -- sometimes it really takes you out of the moment and kills the immersion/story to an extent; however, it's not as bad here as it is the other titles in my opinion.

I do recommend this game, but make sure to look up gameplay to see if it's something you may be interested in. This may sound strange and hypocritical in a way, but please do not look up reviews -- media criticism is garbage and people have certain biases to certain medias. Judge the gameplay for yourself and determine whether if it's worth it.

It's as shown in the screenshots-- it just removes Ryza's yellow jacket. Whether it's worth the $3 (or near $2 on discount) is ultimately up to the consumer.

However, with that noted, what are my thoughts? If it wasn't obvious from the Not Recommended rating, it should not have been sold for money in the first place. Since it only removes her yellow jacket, it should have instead been part of the game itself (simply being just given straight out the gate as an option from the start).

I'm aware that this was a pre-order bonus originally, but that doesn't change the fact that this was offered as a pre-order incentive initially and is now being sold for cash is absolutely asinine.

At least they didn't do something similar with another cosmetic in another game-- oh, wait...

Cool game, Not-So-Cool DRM

Batman: Arkham Asylum is a cool game; however, its ALWAYS-ONLINE DRM for a SINGLE-PLAYER game is not so cool.

If your connection craps out for even 2/10ths of a second, it'll kick you back to the main menu and will NOT save your data up to that point.

Notice: Persona 3 Reload - Persona 4 Golden BGM Set is no longer available on the Steam store.

Thought that y'all (Atlus) had learned your lesson from Soul Hackers 2, by making the pre-order character portraits for the Etrian Odyssey games available for purchase after release was a step in the right direction, but I guess I was wrong. Massively disappointing and a major step back.

If you have this pre-order bonus, you can use the songs by going into the config game settings and scrolling near the bottom, but only after you start the game -- not the title screen.

Y'all need to do better, Atlus.
