My playtime is very limited as of this writing, but I just finished my first crash and burn so I figured this would be a good time for reflection. First off, this game does not hold your hand. It expects you to take your time and figure things out in the beginning (it's a strategy game, you can pause the time. I highly suggest you do so and figure out what everything is and what everything does.) So there is a bit of a learning curve if you are not already familiar with strategy games.

However, once you get past that, there is a lot to like here. The devs did a fantastic job setting the atmosphere; you really feel the desperation of the people in your care, and the weight of your decisions. Your choices really matter; expect to make some mistakes early on that will most likely cost you the game later (it's very easy to mess something up and have it snowball out of control. It's almost like chess, you really have to plan ahead. Will you have enough coal stockpiled to last until the next workshift, or will you need to force your workers into an emergency 24 hour shift to make sure the city doesn't freeze to death over night? These are things you have to account for.)

All in all, it is a challenging, largely unforgiving game that so far feels very rewarding when you get it right. Highly recommended for fans of strategy games that really require you to plan and think ahead.
