One of my favorite games from the last few years. The game is absolutely bonkers ridiuclous and I love it. It is very much an homage to action films of the 1980s in every aspect. The visuals, the narrative are heavily influenced by classics like James Cameron's The Terminator, Paul Verhoeven's RoboCop and John Carpenter's Escape From New York. The gameplay can be wonky at times, mainly due to the mechanics being the same that are found in Far Cry 3, but what is lost in wonky mechanics is made up for in the increased abilities you gain by playing as a human-cyborg hybrid voiced by Michael Biehn (Kyle Reese in the original The Terminator). Like I said, the game is one big homage to 1980s action cinema, and the campy tone compliments both the narrative and the gameplay. This game would be almost completely insufferable if the tone were serious in any way. I won't get into specifics because if you haven't played this game, there's quite a lot that's better left to be discovered for the first time.

As far as game soundtracks go, this one should have definitely won some awards. It is completely complimentary to the game, again with many influences from the synthwave soundtracks of 80s action cinema, which is not surprising since the soundtrack artist is Power Glove. The soundtrack seamlessly flows between tense Carpenter-esque beats into more modern tracks, all of which sound consistent and enhance the overall experience. I totally recommend the soundtrack, it's a great listen both in and outside of the game.
