This game really didn't have to be this good. Story mode could have used more animation, but everything else is top notch. They could have just called this budokai 4 and got sales off of nostalgia, but they made one of the best Tenkaichi games ever made. Playing it in a lobby full of friends is a feeling that just can't be replicated.

it is good

Every game doesn't need physics (tho it would be nice). Every game doesn't need some super deep metaphysical journey for a campaign. Every game doesn't need to be Alyx. Sometimes, a game just needs to be fun.
This game, is fun.

"But for $60?"
For $60 you get;
- 10ish hour campaign (no matter how good or bad the story is, its long and fun)
- survival mode on every MP map with modifiers (stronger enemies, more ammo/health, etc)
- basically universally praised VR WW2 documentary
- fantastic multiplayer with a nice variety of maps and game modes (that people complain are empty, yet tell people not to buy?)
- Continued dev support with a pretty vocal presence on reddit
- Also, sniper scopes are optional and the M1 pings

So, yeah man. Thumbs up.

Notice the highest time on these negative reviews since it's gone F2P is like 1.2 hrs. You need to get out of lvl 3 before you can even pvp, and more game modes unlock as you level. The game is fun and great, sure it takes a while to find a match but if we stop downtalking the game because of it and tell people how good of the game is gameplay wise, it'll attract more players and fix that problem. The skill building is great, characters control and play well, actual game modes and hell now its free. Great game, cant wait to see how they support it this time, seeing as they could have easily just made a sequel and left this game to die.
