A very solid port/remaster of a game that has been released on every platform you could imagine. Pixel Art and Music are fantastic, although I wish you had options to toggle between the original NES/Famicom Soundtrack and the Remastered tracks.

Other then that, all gameplay tweaks are needed bug fixes and Quality of Life changes (such as characters auto switching targets after an enemy is killed, adding an auto-battle button that replicates your last turn, and actually being able to buy Phoenix Downs in shops) that make this the best version unless you want to extra dungeons/traditional MP system of modern JRPGs/found in the PSP and GBA version of the game. Personally, I prefer this since I actually like the spell charge system and never bothered with the extra dungeons, but it's better to keep this in mind.

My only gripe with the game is the inability to skip/speed-up cutscenes. The intro cutscene and ending cutscenes can not be skipped (unless I missed something) and feels like an eternity after the first playthrough. Really wish you could either speed up the text holding down a button or full on skip scens so that you can get back to gamepaly. Some players on here have also complained about the in-game font feeling out of place, but it didn't bother me after a hour or so of playing and can easily be altered with mods if it REALLY bothers you.

Overall, the Pixel Remaster of FF1 is easily the best ways to play these games IF you want an authentic experience to the original games. If you are looking for a "modernization" instead with extra content, maybe hunt down the PSP/GBA versions of the games instead. Also if the games are too expensive, they go on sale pretty regular, so if you are interested in trying the classic that started the series proper, give the Pixel Remaster a shot. You won't regret it!

EDIT: Months later, I realize I can't spell LOL
