DayZ is one of the best game ever made. It brought to life the survival zombie apocalypse horror videogame and, since then, a lot of new games have born in the same direction. All those new games (a lot of them being a failure) took example from DayZ.

But let's analyze why you should or shouldn't buy this game:
First of all, if you are a CoD or BF type of guy and you're looking for that kind of game or just a casual game, you're in the wrong place.
This is pre-alpha game and, as A LOT of developping games, it could take years to reach the finish. This is not a little tiny game made by a huge company like Ubisoft that brings to you 100 games every freaking year. There's a small group of devs working on it and, since the game is HUGE, (as map, as physics, as mechanics, as objects, as everything) you should realize that the final version won't happen easily. Just think at a big projects like MGS5 or others, huge company worked on it and yet it took several years of developping. How can you think to have DayZ done in a year from the pre-alpha launch? You're either crazy or ignorant.
So, basically, the only reason because a good part of DayZ community is cancer, is that devs made 1 mistake, more times: they promised dates. Never promise dates working on those kind of projects. It doesn't seem, for me, that big non pre-alpha games made any promise until the final release date and any fan started crying and throwing sh*t at the game.
And that's because of Early Access Games on Steam. It's a double-edged sword. Devs made mistake and ignorant people created bad rumors.

BUT, my friends, BUT, the game is still alive, the game has been always alive. And devs always worked on it, even if sometimes they could have seemed dead. It took years to see a major changing, but NOW, can you see the big difference? Can you see what devs have done? Since the game reached 0.60, thousands of players came back to play, new players bought the game and even the worst trolling ignorant people who threw sh*t on it came back to play it (unfortunately for us).

Why should you buy DayZ? Because it's the first complete and amazing sandbox survival post-zombie apocalyptic horror game ever made. I won't start to list everything you can do on it, you already know or it's written everywhere, But I'll tell you that I've NEVER experienced such fun and emotion on a type of game like this one, except on DayZ.

Since 0.60 the game is even scarier, harder and more fascinating. The new renderer made possible to fans to play the game they were waiting since DayZ mod.
There's no desync and FPS are higher than ever (120 in the wild; 60 inside villages; not less than 40 in huge cities).
I've bought this game since release because I'm a huge fan and I wanted to trust their work and see for myself the progress of the game. I've been angry too playing it. But that's a pre-alpha, it's like this. If you buy it, you KNOW you'll have to deal with bugs and problems. Devs are really working on it everyday and I hope we can soon see more zombies, base-building and new awesome mechanics that'll make it unique more than now.

Right now, DayZ is more stable than ever and the gameplay is amazing. It's the best game of his kind on the store.
