I wasn't all that excited for this game. I love the original Sonic Generations, but I didn't think they did anything new enough to warrant the price tag as well as I didn't care about the Shadow story that much. I thought it was a cool idea but given the mediocrity of Frontiers and Superstars I just could not bring myself to care. However I heard a lot of praise when it was released and got the game and decided to give it a chance. I am very happy to say that I was wrong and this is a great game. Let's start with Sonic Generations. I wish they did some more and while I do think the original story had very bad writing and was pretty dumb, I do think that the rewrites were pretty bad and unnecessary. I appreciate the effort but it didn't land especially because they didn't change the cutscenes really at all so it was pretty awkward. I thought adding the drop dash was fine for Classic Sonic but it was pretty unnecessary for Modern. I only found myself using it in the occasional 2D section but that was very few and far between the boost and air dash was more than enough to keep speed and I don't think I used it once in any of the 3D Sections. But aside from those weird changes it's still Sonic Generations one of the best Sonic games ever made. Now for the big thing, Shadow Generations. I was so pleasantly surprised. This is a great game. It was well polished, had a pretty decent story, really good cutscene animations which was shocking for a Sonic game. I'm still not a fan of the English voice acting at all but I was able to look past it. The level design was surprisingly really solid and he controlled great. I liked that the first act was entirely in 3D. I don’t like the boost gameplay in 2D because they’re awkward and pace breaking and unfortunately every second act was in 2D but I did think they were better designed than normal here. I loved the music and even had a decent amount of fun in the hub world. I liked almost all of Shadows' new moves except for the Doom Morph. It was mostly fine but often it felt awkward and kinda worked when it wanted to. I also really dug the boss fights. All in all I do think this is a great game and has enough extra and new content to warrant its pricing. I wish they did a little more with base Generations but I’d rather it be mostly untouched than them ruining one of my favorite Sonic games ever. And that’s the thing, it’s still Sonic Generations one of my favorite games in the series and I’m glad they added some awesome stuff to make it even better and Shadow Generations has become one of my new favorite 3D games in the series. 8/10 still wish they’d change the voice cast.

I am very happy to say this game is now playable. I wanted to buy this game a lot sooner, but after hearing about all the problems this version's been having, I decided to wait. It was most definitely worth the wait. Yes, I still ran into problems, and if you own a Xbox One or PS4, I reccomend getting it on console instead. But if you're a PC gamer like me, it is still worth it, as it is now runs at a playable framerate, and there are less glitches, but they are still there. Anyway on to the game itself. It's awesome, what did you expect? It builds on the previous games and adds better combat, graphics, and world. I also had a lot of fun with the batmobile. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but me personally I had a great time with it. There may have been a few too many tank battles, but other than that I had a lot of fun. So overall this was a great game and definitely reccomend it if you can run it. 9/10

So, if he's played 16 hours of Sonic Mania, and you can beat it in 3 hours, how many times has he beaten Sonic Mania? 5 times.
