Yeah it was great. And not that weird.
That's kind of the main grief I'd have with Indika tbh - what it says, at its core, feels... I mean, it feels so OK I have trouble understanding why it needs to be said again.
But maybe that's cultural!
And apart from that, Indika is so much better than the vast majority of games out there. It takes risks, it tries things, it plays with you and your expectations. Its gameplay is shaky, but that goes so well with who Indika is. I had a great time - and a short one, at that.
Highly recommend!

Amazing!
Short, simple, but smart and very well delivered. 2 hour super well spent.

A very short, at times very dark, but ultimately (if you look hard enough) surprisingly hopeful take at the woes of creation. I entered it thinking I already knew from the start how it would end - and unsurprisingly, it unfolded that exact way. But then I insisted, replayed it, made different choices and found myself thinking about my own creative process in ways I never did before. This is very precious!
Thanks for making this game! Although it obviously "is not for everyone", it wil be very much for the people that will find something in what it says.
Yes, that last sentence was very convoluted.
Writing just isn't for everyone I guess.

I have a toxic relationship with this game - but a good one!

The game was already very good. It's original, talks about a topic that's barely touched on in video games (life as an established couple), tries very bold things gameplay wise (it's really cool to pilot 2 characters, and I didn't play it with someone else but friends told me the experience was really neat)… In a nutshell, it was already all we could expect from a cool indie game.
But the recent update - that now allows for playable same-sex couples - just adds a ton more wholesomeness to it. I tip my hat to the devs who worked hard on making their title more inclusive and diverse in its representations of what love is. It doesn't take anything away from the original experience (looking at you, grumpy G@M3RZ) and it adds depth. Bravo, wholeheartedly recommended!

Ok so I've seen some comments on the game's price in other reviews and... quit it already! €20 for a 5 to 6 hours long narrative experience is perfectly OK as long as the story's good. Some of you have zero idea how much it costs to make a game and how hard it is to break even selling it, and it shows.
Abot the game itself: it's good looking, the characters are interesting (I like that some of them were borderline horrible and very hard to like, I think that's original and fresh), and the fact that the narrative unfolds in three different storylines was clever. The story itself was OK, not the best in years but interesting enough that it kept me hooked the whole time. On the negative side, some of the episodes were pretty short, with pretty much nothing happening, I hated almost every walking moments and some minigames did not suit the narrative beats they were affixed to very well.
But overall, a nice experience, I've played for around 6 ours (three of them offline) and i was glad to come back to it over the course of a few days. Recommended!

Just finished this game, and I felt compelled to immediately leave a review. Sure, it's unusual. Sure, it's very slow, and fairly minimalistic in terms of gameplay. But some of the sequences in there are absolutely beautiful, the music is gorgeous, and if you've already stopped once to wonder about what makes us humans, you'll connect with the stories that are told. Also, the greyscale pixel art is stunning. Very much recommended!

I was waiting for this game to be out since I first heard of it a few months ago, and it didn't disappoint. Nice visuals, smooth mechanics, short playtime so you can experience it in an evening... And, of course, a great story, which, even though it didn't move me as much as I thought it would, was so much better than the vast majority of what games usually propose. Made me think of Wide Ocean, Big Jacket and the likes. Highly recommend!
