I played the game when it was first released on EGS. I was so amazed by it that I wanted to add it to my Steam collection as well.

If you're into sci-fi and mystery and don’t mind a little bit of creeping tension, this game is a must-play. The story is gripping from start to finish, weaving a compelling narrative that keeps you on edge in the best way possible. The pacing? Absolutely spot-on. There's never a moment where things drag or feel too rushed. The gameplay offers enough variety to keep things fresh. And for those who dread sudden jump scares—good news! This game masterfully builds atmosphere and suspense without resorting to cheap tricks. If you love sci-fi and enjoy a good mystery, this one should be at the top of your list.

But I have to warn yo§ &?&§%&---

Fort Solis is a game that’s more of an interactive sci-fi movie than a typical gaming experience, and that can be both a blessing and a curse . If you're after gameplay variety, this might not be your cup of tea. It leans heavily into the "walking simulator" category with not much to do beyond walking and interacting. The pacing, especially in the first hour, is quite slow, and the Quick Time Events (QTEs) are a bit clunky, popping up at awkward moments and adding frustration.

However, the storytelling shines. The atmosphere is carefully crafted with exceptional video and audio logs that gradually pull you deeper into the mystery, all supported by top-tier motion capture from real actors. Visually, it's stunning (UE5), and the soundtrack adds subtle tension throughout.

If you're after a game with robust mechanics, this isn't it; consider Observation instead. But if you're okay with a slow-burn, cinematic experience, it’s worth grabbing on sale!

Sadly a prime example of a game that has beautiful art style, nice UI, great soundtrack and an interesting combination of game-genres BUT is lacking a mature gameplay concept.

Awkward control-concept makes basic kitchen tasks (e.g. cutting, seasoning, placing objects, etc.) cumbersome, non-intuitive and more time-consuming than necessary.

This game is a real gem but I gave it a negative review still on release because of all those massive cheating in the game. Yaeger announced improvement on this front but I was very skeptical. Just another server-side analysis tool wouldn't make a difference.
Now on release day of Season 2 (2.0) they revealed, besides other initiatives, trusted parties.

(Trusted parties will get their own separate matchmaking queue with other trusted parties, and vice versa for non-trusted players.)

The future will tell how good this will work but I can finally enjoy this game with the confidence it deserves.

Missing sounds, signs and buggy PZB. Wouldn't recommend this even on sale.

If you like Rally, Retro and Synthwave music (especially if you are a child of the 80s) ﹣ then you came to the right place.

Early Access Review
If you like cave exploration, a little tiny bit of mining/looting and shooting aliens then this game is for you. Digging through these procedurally generated cave networks is a great experience; coop- and solo-vise.
