Let's be honest, you can go literally anywhere else for an in-depth critical review. You're only reading Steam reviews because you want to know if it's actually that good before you buy it.

Yeah. It is.

Solid sequel - I really liked it. Not as much as the first game, but still very enjoyable. Superb atmosphere, art and music all the same. Buy it if you liked the original Oxenfree and want more.

An underrated gem. A quirky psychedelic 2D/3D RPG with rhythm battles and a soundtrack that absolutely slaps. Draws lovingly from Undertale while standing proudly on its own as a JRPG with a focus on great music and character design. The story is interesting, the pacing is great, each battle throws something new at you, and the selectable difficulty ranges between mildly challenging and tough-as-nails. Highly recommended.

It's Cookie Clicker. On Steam. With music, and achievements integration, and mods.
The free web version remains unchanged and will receive the same core gameplay updates.
But now we also have a Steam version with a few bonus features.

Buy this if:
- You want to support the developer and play without ads.
- You'd like an (excellent) soundtrack by C418 to go with the game.
- You want Steam achievement integration to share how much of your life you've wasted.

Don't buy this if:
- You're expecting a remake. It's the same JavaScript game, launched through Steam with a few bonuses.
- You have no idea what Cookie Clicker is. Play the free web game first to see if you like it.
- You don't think the additional features are worth $5 of your money over the free version.

All they really had to do was add a FOV slider, but no. This is a proper remaster for a game that really needed it. Ultrawide support, HD textures, rerendered animations, a minimap, the works. With the exception of the controls and maybe the UI, it now feels every bit as modern as Borderlands 2, and I'm so glad I've waited until now to play it. Highly recommended.

Early Access Review
You know how you can own hundreds of games on Steam, and yet there's only ever one that you keep coming back to? Beat Saber is that, but for VR. If you own a headset, it is simply a must-have.

It works flawlessly with the Vive, Rift and Mixed Reality (I use the Dell Visor). It's amazingly satisfying and intuitive, and with so many mods and custom songs it's endlessly playable. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best VR game, bar none. It's not the most technically impressive, nor is it the biggest or the most detailed. But for me, it has the most entertainment value out of any VR game I've played. I can't recommend it enough.

Although Beat Saber never goes on sale, it's easily worth full price. But FYI, if you're a Humble Monthly subscriber, you can get 10% off it at the Humble Store.

I've ragequit at least 30 times. I've fallen down and lost a gruelling amount of progress even more times than that. I've spent a collective five minutes in shock and denial at the debilitating amount of progress I lost each time; only later realizing how trivial that progress was relative to the entire game.

Yesterday, after much frustration, I gave up on this game vowing that I'd never beat it. Today, I beat it twice. This game will haunt your dreams, and cling fervently to your thoughts every waking hour; beckoning you to return and resume the cycle of climbing up, falling down, and climbing back up just a little bit further than you did before. All whilst the voice of the world's smuggest man incessantly taunts you with passive-aggressive remarks, pretentiously recites clichéd quotes, and plays country music. Well worth the cash, five stars.

Rogue Warrior is worth experiencing if you have an affinity for obscure, silly, poorly made games which are nonetheless playable. Despite the quality of the gunplay falling somewhere between early 2000s shovelware and a Unity asset flip on the 38th page of the Google Play Store, the plot and the filthy dialogue are so bad they're amusing. Plus, you can finish the whole game comfortably under the 2 hour refund window. TL;DR Worth a quid or two for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.

TL;DR Betrayer is far from perfect, but I would wholeheartedly recommend it. Especially on sale.

Essentially, it's an open world first-person adventure game with stealth, shooter and horror elements. Your objective is to unravel the mystery of a cursed settlement in Colonial America; by finding and collecting page fragments scattered across the several medium-sized outdoor levels, talking to the ghosts of the deceased settlers, and shooting possessed Spaniards in the face while you're at it.

The gameplay falls somewhere between mediocre and good. The shooting and stealth systems feel a bit clunky, but work well overall; basically what you’d expect from an obscure action-adventure game. My only major complaint is that towards the end, running around the levels trying to find all of the collectables ends up being a huge chore.

That aside, Betrayer more than redeems itself in other areas. For one, the sound design is outstanding. From the genuinely unsettling ambient noises and shrieks throughout the "shadow world", to the gusts of wind that make the environment feel so very alive, Betrayer succeeds in being fantastically atmospheric, tense and immersive. The heartbeat track which plays when an enemy detects you never failed to put me on edge; not knowing where they were or how many there were.

The writing is also surprisingly first-rate. The page fragments and accounts from the ghosts are very well written, and the storyline is dark, suspenseful and engaging; which is definitely helped by Betrayer’s unique art style. As standard, the game is in black and white with only important objects, enemies and NPCs highlighted in red. However, if you wish, you can bring back the colour by adjusting the settings however you like, which is a very important touch. I’d recommend turning the saturation up slightly, as I found washed out colours provided the best atmosphere, and also contrast between the black and white in the “shadow world”.

Overall, Betrayer is a small, imperfect game which shines through its top-notch sound design, story and art style. Whether it’s for £3.99 or less than £1 on sale, it’s a hidden gem that I think everyone should pick up if they have the chance.

On the face of it, DOOM might not look like anything hugely special - but it blew me away. It's one of the most fun, well-designed and satisfying shooters I've ever played.

The campaign is around 11-12 hours long, and the story is surprsingly good despite being a supplement to the game, rather than the focus of it. Not to mention the fact that it's an optimization masterpiece. A game has no right to look this good and perform this well. Highly recommended.
