The first one is the superior game, no contest. This will have some work to do, but the new additions are fun, and I'm sure the bug and balance tweaks will come. Only major complaint is the lack of a campaign with the breadth of the first one. The campaign here is an extended tutorial, and the real meat of the game is chaos theory and challenges, whereas the first game had a much more substantial campaign, and the bonus was the challenge mode.

Best to wait until the DLC comes out or snag it on sale.
