I honestly don't know what it was but I really enjoyed the game. And I'm even more of a dog person.

======OVERVIEW======

Somehow, still not sure how, I had a lot of fun playing Spooky Cats. And as I was reading other reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one. It is a short game, sure, but I guess adding more levels or some difficult puzzles/challenges would kill the momentum. I mean, I'd be more than happy if there were some more levels whether official or made by other players, but I would probably burn out of listening to spoooky cats (since they are 2 spooky 4 me... yeah, I'm a very funny person). To sum it all, the length is perfect. Other than that it's all just decent but still good nevertheless. Only the soundtrack was kinda "meh" for me but not a big deal, muted it after few minutes. What was absolutely brilliant though, the voice-over of dying bat. You'll get what I'm talking about after you play this. Anyways, one last recommendation - playing it with a controller might be a bit smoother and more fun, so if you have one, give it a try.

PROS
- cats (if you are a cat person)
- length
- trading cards
- visuals
- controls

CONS
- cats (if you are a dog person)
- soundtrack

Okay, I have to admit this was one of the strangest experiences. I honestly thought all these positive reviews were sarcastic but I realised they are not afterwards. Not really sure if it's worth the 3$ price tag but some say it's a life-changing experience and hey, whatever supports the developer's goofyness, right?

First thing that went through my mind when I’ve launched the game was that it looks like one of those crappy mobile games ports. Even though this game has many flaws, it is a fun game that I enjoy.

======OVERVIEW======

Firstly, the UI. It doesn’t look that promising and the font is awful. Although it fits the art style, it definitely needs some improvements. Talking about the art style, it’s decent, nothing extra but good enough. Thankfully, it doesn't affect gameplay in a negative way. Not gonna lie, it’s kind of harder to get into this game. Especially the controls. It is really sloppy to move your character around with mouse. It just didn’t feel right and it kinda made me feel like it’s a mobile port even more. I think moving with WASD would make more sense but it doesn't feel like devs want to change this. Sure, it makes the game more challenging but personally, I didn't find it that exciting. It’s also hard to mix moving with attacking, especially when you want to attack the enemy and you end up going to him instead, which is the worst thing that could happen if you have low HP. There's not really much to say about this game - it's fun, it's challenging, it has its flaws but nothing too ridiculous. Therefore, I'm gonna mention few things that I think are missing in this game. First thing that I noticed and kinda expected - character customization. It kinda surprised me that you can't customize anything in this game. And it really looks like you can, especially when you're creating a new character. False hopes.. Next thing - adventure mode. I would play the hell out of this if there was such an option to play this game without permadeath. And I guess I'll enjoy this game a little bit more as well.

PROS
- various enemies
- paths to choose (different "gamemodes")
- achievement/stats
- town + upgrades (which stays even if your character dies)

CONS
- UI
- controls (the mouse thing I've mentioned earlier)
- no character customization
- lack of quests in "Friendly" mode

======RATING======

Don't know what it is but I have kind of mixed feelings even though Herolike is very good. It also has a good replay value, you'll not burn out of it easily. Plus it's hell of a good game for an hour or so sessions (you basically want to keep going until you die). I just feel like it has a lot of potential yet it doesn't fully use it. The price tag of Herolike is okay, at this stage I'd probably wait for some kind of discount, but it's definitely worth to pick up. Really looking forward to how frequently will developers update this game and if this game's gonna get even better (considering it's still an early access game).

Well, trailer says it all. "YOU DIED" will appear on your screen more than you're willing to admit. Doesn't matter how much you try, how skilled you consider yourself to be, you'll die a lot. The main reason for most of your deaths will probably be buggy controls and even worse enemies. Simply said, this game doesn't feel right at all. Nor finished.

======OVERVIEW======

Yeah, dungeons are random. Completely. It'd be a good feature, if it just wasn't so terribly executed. Visuals aren't that bad, sure, but controls? Awful. They don't make sense either (F for inventory, CTRL for attack, like.. why?). However, it has a nice idea. UI is kinda bad, sure (specifically the "HP" and "mana" candles). But honestly, game has a nice variety of enemies. If only they weren't so buggy. It kinda goes hand in hand with controls though so I guess if they fix this problem, they'll have easier time with fixing enemies. Nevertheless, it doesn't seem like developers care about Dungeons Are Random that much. Last update, which fixed just few of the worst bugs, was in January. Which makes me sad because this game could be a nice little gem.

PROS
- variety of enemies
- decent level designs

CONS
- gameplay/controls
- visuals/UI
- soundtrack
- lot of bugs (hitboxes, etc.)
- missing achievements/trading cards
- devs seem not to care about this game anymore
- price tag

======RATING======

Let me start by saying that the price is too damn high for this experience you get. Props to guys who managed to actually play this game for more than 20 minutes, it's just too self-tormenting. There's so much work on this game yet it doesn't really seem we'll ever get to the point where this game will be playable.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of platformer games. Neither am I a fan of puzzle games. This game though. In Between somehow managed to catch my attention and even slip into my wishlist. Glad that I gave this game a chance, I was definitely missing out on some interesting experience. Keep it mind that I'm nowhere near the end of this game but here are my thoughts about it so far.

======OVERVIEW======

First thing that actually made me notice this game is the beautiful art-style. The fact that it's hand painted is impressive as well, not gonna lie. It's been some time I've been this mind-blown by visual side of a game. It works perfectly with the whole theme and atmosphere. Accompanied by awesome soundtrack, it's a pleasure to play this game. A very interesting experience.
Even though this game can be boring every now and then when you're stuck at some puzzle, it's definitely worth to keep playing. If you feel burnt out, just give it some time to think about the puzzles and then come back to it. About the story, I must say that I love those "mind images" popping in levels. Other than that only segments between "chapters" and voice-overs during level can bring you some insights into story. Nevertheless, I'm not really far enough to say anything about the story but so far, I love the progress it makes. Plus those all are good features that can slow down "the burn out" process. Other than that, I don't really have that much to say about the game. Try the demo if you're not really convinced to buy this game and see for yourself.

PROS
- BEAUTIFUL hand made art-style
- controls/gameplay
- trading cards + achievements
- soundtrack
- variety of challenging obstacles/levels
- atmosphere
- free demo for you to try

CONS
- "the burn out" level is high (I guess that's the thing about almost every platformer though)
- price tag

======RATING======

Even if you're not really into puzzles and platformers, this game can bring you some interesting experience. If you love platformers though and you don't own this game yet, I wonder why since I think this game is one of the best indie platformers made. It seems to be a long game as well, so that might be another reason for you to buy it.

I didn't really know what to expect out of this game. Thankfully, it's not so hard to pick up. It throws you right into the game without any notable intro/knowledge but don't worry, figuring everything out is a matter of few minutes. It doesn't take long and you will be addicted to Bardbarian.

======OVERVIEW======

Bardbarian takes the Tower Defense genre to a whole new level, where you can actually influence the outcome of a battle, whether you just move differently or have other units spawned. Every level usually somehow differs each time you play it. However, if you play a certain level few times, you can actually remember when and where a specific enemy spawns. That being said, it is not a big deal since you'd have to spend too many hours in this game to actually remember the pattern of spawning. Besides the regular adventure/story mode, there are two more game modes: survival and escape. Both of them bring a fresh air if you're just burnt out of the main mode and I must say that surprisingly enough, I've enjoyed these. Plus you can unlock some of otherwise not approachable units and you can come up with some other interesting strategies. So far I'm using ordinary units more but might give those specials try if I ever struggle with some specific level. And yeah, you'll find yourself struggling with a level more often than you're willing to admit but don't worry, it gets better with almost every upgrade. Far better when you find yourself some comfortable unit combinations. One more noticable thing: sound. The way this game works with soundtrack and sound effects is just beautiful.

PROS
- visual side
- controls/gameplay
- trading cards
- sound effects and soundtrack
- grinding
- replay value
- achievements + trading cards
- crossover features with other indie games

CONS
- lacks events/seasons updates (last update was on Halloween, still in the game to this game which kinda doesn't make sense)

======RATING======

I love this game. It sets the standard for Tower Defense games too high and it'll honestly be a hard quest for other games to overcome the great experience I've had playing Bardbarian. I'd highly recommend it to every casual gamer out there, heck, even to those hardcore gamers, you can spend some quality time playing this game as well.

I see what the developer of this game was trying to do here but it just... didn't work out. Let's be real here, gamers love when a game recognize them as real people playing it and that they are not just another game characters. Hence why games like The Stanley Parable or The Begginer's Guide became a hit. But if you are a game developer, you cannot just rely on this fact.

======OVERVIEW======

This game gave me mixed feelings, I must say. Honestly, after few of those puzzles, I felt like this is it, there's not gonna be more, you will just go through these doors and you either choose a correct one and go to the next puzzle, or a wrong one and die. Thankfully, I was wrong. Later on it changes a bit but since I don't wanna spoil this game for those of you, who want to buy and play this, I'm not gonna go into details. But these few changes it made, I wanted them to last longer, I had not enough of it and yet again I found myself in front of those doors. I really hoped that after all, I may enjoy this game, it might have a bit of a crazy story like The Stanley Parable did, but no. The story was almost nonexistent. It felt like the dev just wanted to throw something in, so it's not that monotonous but he just didn't have enough time to think about it. It felt dull. It was dull. Sure, few "jokes" here and there but it didn't change my mind and opinion about this game. And bacon as a "main thing"? Oh my god, amazing idea, people love bacon, no doubt about that, so they will automatically love this game as well. I just hope this was not what went through the developer's mind even though I wouldn't really be surprised...

PROS
- visual side
- trading cards
- achievements

CONS
- overall dull experience
- NO replay value
- no interesting feature (like voice-over or soundtrack, something to catch your attention)

======RATING======

Firstly, if you don't enjoy walking simulators, you're definitely not gonna enjoy this game either. Apart from the last puzzle, it is not a "my brain hurts" type of game either. There's not much to say. Overall dull experience, nothing to be hyped about. Atleast the graphics of this game are polished. However, it is not enough to change the fact that I can't really recommend buying this.

Not gonna lie, I'm honestly pissed off because of this game. It's been some time I've seen so much potential in a game. It could really be an awesome game, yet it is, sadly, terrible.

======OVERVIEW======

Silver Knight is Binding of Isaac gone wrong. Let's start with the good things first. Its art-style is nice and although you might have seen this kind of visuals in many other games, it's easy to love Silver Knight's design. Even the UI is not bad at all. It should be worked on more, no doubt about that, but there are bigger problems than UI. One more thing that I've kinda enjoyed is sound effects and soundtrack, which are simple and kinda suits the atmosphere to be honest. Now, the sad part of this review. I don't think I've ever been more sad about roasting a game than I'm now. But things must be said, so the developer will (hopefully) work on this game some more. Firstly, what the hell are those hitboxes? I simply can't (and don't want to) play this game if I don't really know when I'll hit enemy and when I won't. Or even better when you take the black potion (you lose 1 HP) randomly. Yes, it's utterly broken. So is the dash. After using it few times, the visual effect of it stays but it simply doesn't work. Another thing, that I don't think is supposed to work like that, is resetting levels. Let's say you beat a level, you have full HP and you find a red potion there. So you leave it there to "later use" just because you're used to it from other games. So you beat the next level but lost 1 HP, you want to take the red potion from previous level but surprise, surprise, it's not there. You return to the level you already beat but another surprise awaits, it spawned enemies again. Just.. Why? I wanted to give this game a good rating, I really did. But I can't.

PROS
- visual side
- trading cards
- BIG potential

CONS
- gameplay
- awful bugs
- level design
- so many better games in this genre
- difficulty (related to terrible gameplay and bugs)
- basically no settings at all

======RATING======

As a lover of this genre, I was really looking forward to playing this game. At the time I've managed to get it, it didn't even have that many negative reviews, so I was like "okay, this might be a nice game after all". Oh boy, was I wrong. Unfortunately, the game didn't deliver. I'd compare this game to that feeling when you know a person that has a talent to do something cool yet he/she doesn't fully use it and work on it. That is exactly what this game feels like. I can't recommend it at this stage but my hopes are high that I'll be able to change this review to a positive one someday.

Oh yeah, another zombie game. Even though it might look like every other indie game, just few of those games can combine gameplay and graphics like Over 9000 Zombies!. First things first, you're not gonna enjoy this game to the maximum if you're planning on playing it alone. Sure, it's fun for a while, when everything is new for you but it easily gets boring. So if you want to buy this game, buy a 2-pack and play it with your friend, otherwise you might not get the full experience.

======OVERVIEW======

There's not much to say about the visual side of this game. It fits the whole theme perfectly, it's simple yet efficient, the UI is easy to use and read, simply said: I wish more indie developers would use this game as an example. It also has enough content to offer, Steam Workshop, variety of enemies, several guns (not as crazy as in Zombie Party but still interesting), etc. The game, of course, gets more and more difficult throughout the game but the difficulty level peak is not really that crazy. You can handle it if you try hard enough and already know all the basics. Plus it's, of course, easier to beat with your friend. Another thing I like about Over 9000 Zombies! is soundtrack. It's fresh, dynamic plus it supports the whole atmosphere. Don't expect a soundtrack blockbuster though. Let's move on to things I don't really like about this game. Replay value... Yeah, you probably not gonna spend hundreds of hours in-game as this game gets old pretty fast. Partial solution for this would be customization. I just feel like this game loses huge opportunity as there are not many things to custom. Actually, only thing you can custom, is map. You can create it from scratch or you can partially change it with turrets/blocks. So yeah, if you could custom or atleast choose your character, it'd be much more fun. Plus it could also revive the Workshop.

PROS
- gameplay/controls
- visual side
- soundtrack
- Steam Workshop
- achievements/leaderboards
- multiplayer (although it still misses 4-player coop)
- price
- slightly addictive

CONS
- replay value
- no customization
- singleplayer is rather boring

======RATING======

If this game is currently not in sale, I'd put it in wishlist and just wait for it to go on sale. Not because it's a bad game and not worth buying at a full price, but because it's on sale every now and then and you could save yourself some money. Highly recommended to buy with your friend(s).

There's not really much to say about this game. It's super fun, simple yet difficult, challenging and yeah.. You don't even know how and time flies by as you're trying to beat your highscore. Absolutely recommended, for 89 cents it's a must buy!

P.S.: Be aware of the so-called "tetris effect", your brain might still want to play the game while you're trying to get some sleep.

Early Access Review
First of all, all the survival games are basically about the same - gather food and other resources, craft some tools and try not to get killed. What could make the difference and catches the gamer’s attention at first is definitely the graphics. And this is where developers of this game have a small upper hand. Why small you may ask? Or why the upper hand?

It’s because the game is 2D which makes it kinda unique between all of those survival games. Unfortunately, it’s not precisely brought to an end. Maybe they went for the look I’m going to describe but it just looked like they made a so-called HD remake that just looks and runs awful and makes you want to play that retro game yet again and forget that such remake even existed. I know it's hard for some indie developers to create a visually pleasing game but this genre and especially this game needs it. Let’s talk about gameplay now.. Tutorial. It's great for survival games to make an ACTUAL tutorial level where you simply cannot die half into it and then have to start from beggining. It’d be also nice if you could somehow make it completely new level, not like tutorial + an actual game at the same time. I know it seems like a good idea but this is why we have hints in-game, right? The tutorial needs to be an "extra" level where you easily retain all the food/resources/tools, and it definitely should not be long and boring. If that would be a thing, I can imagine having more fun with the game and actually knowing what the hell I am doing or am supposed to do. Let’s talk about the performance side for a bit. As I’ve slightly mentioned in the intro of this review, this game runs poorly. I honestly can imagine a low-end PC gamer looking at this game going like „Hey, this looks like a game that can work on my PC, yay!“ and then realising that it’s a miracle to run this game smoothly. I know that most of the survival games are not really optimised but that goes more for an online game than for a singleplayer game. Plus more for a 3D game than a 2D game. But even then, you can run the game on low settings with obviously low graphic, but at least not looking like a blurry potato. Unfortunately, this is not the case for DinoSystem. People expect a FPS wonderland from seemingly „small indie games“ like this. And this game unfortunately doesn’t deliver.

Pros
+ replay value
+ bit of a character personalisation
+ survival and "god" mode (needs some work though)

Cons
- performance issues
- visual side
- tutorial
- mediocre soundtrack
- lacks more content

OVERALL RATING
I would NOT recommend buying DinoSystem at this stage and at a full price. However, it's not the worst game I've ever played and it has a potential, so let's see if devs can deliver.
