Just finished Undertale for real this time, oh man. That game takes you from one place to another and the end is nothing like the beginning. If you beat it once, you need to beat it like 3 more times to actually get the good ending.
In all honesty this was one of the best games I have ever played. It's more than worth the 10$ price tag. The gameplay isn't bad, it's engaging and unique. However; that isn't the reason to play this game.
The soundtrack was also amazing. The games music was obviously done with much care, each tune really set the mood for every character and every interaction you have. However, I even found that the music worked in more than one context within the same characters confines. (Ex: When Undyne tries to kill you, then again later when she cooks with you). It's amazing and the entire sound track is going on my phone to listen to ASAP. However; this also isn't the reason to play the game.
The characters, the stories, the mystery, the consequences. These are the reasons to play this game. The game remembers what you've done across multiple playthroughs, and will change interactions with characters based on that alone. I'm more than just convinced that this game must have taken forever to write, because everything just... fit. It's not often a game gives you a choice system, and while yes, playing through and killing the monsters is SO MUCH EASIER to win the game, it isn't the true ending. It isn't even a happy ending. You feel like a jerk for killing anything. I mean I only killed about 8 monsters through the game and it ruined my ending. I felt so bad. Playing through the game without killing a single monster - especially when you get to the super secret area at the end of the game and oh my goodness the monsters kill you in like 2 hits. I was more than frustrated. HOWEVER ; the TRUE ENDING is so MIND BLOWING and AMAZING that it was worth all the blood sweat and tears that went into getting to that point.
I cannot express how good of a game Undertale is. And will recommend it for years to come. Just.... play it already.
