If Alec Guiness was still amongst us he would say:

"This is not the Cyberpunk game you are looking for."

I'm quite certain he would recommend "Shadowrun Returns" or tell you to buy a SNES and play the original Shadowrun.

I enjoy the game, but it is nothing more than GTA in a cyberpunk type city,

3 ugly chickens and half a drumstick out of five.

Was hoping for a modern take on Street Rod, but was let down by a steaming turd of a game. :(

The original Mark of the Ninja was already a great game and this version offers 4K enhanced visuals, new tools and techniques, and a new 'Game Plus' mode on completion. The game is just an allround great old school platformer/stealth number. The controls are intuitive, and the graphics and audio are more than adequate.

I received this version for free due to owning the original with all DLC, and I highly recomend it to anyone who likes this style of game, and even those new to the style.

After the debacle of OOvee it is great to see this game get a decent publisher. It could have easily faded away which would have been a shame. I do not and probably never will know the actual facts of what happened between Oovee and the developer, and I honestly don't care. I am just glad that Spintires has finally got the release it deserves and will (hopefully) continue to recieve updates. I have to commend Focus on stepping in and allowing this to happen.

While some owners of the original may be peeved at having to repurchase what is essentialy the same game, I do not have a problem with it. Focus having taken on the publishing of the game deserve some recompense and the discounted price they offer to owners of the original is more than fair as far as I am concerned.

The improvements in the game are subtle but veteran drivers will notice them. The physics are improved and the new water effects are great. The sounds of the trucks and the environment have also had an overhaul. The interface has had some minor improvements and the introduction of a tutorial will be welcomed by newcomers.

An in-cab view has been added, but unfortunately in its current form it looks like a tacked on afterthought and is rubbish. It looks like something out of an early 90's game and the mirrors do not work. Hopefully this will be rectified in a future update. This view is something I was looking forward to, but at the moment I just cant bring myself to use it without shaking my head and thinking how sad it is.

The camera in the original was something that a lot of players did not like. I personally never had a problem with it, but still used Spintires+ to improve the control of it. The same camera mode has been retained in this version, but seems more restricted than the original, it can be a bit difficult to get it into the perfect position without it flicking off to another angle. This is something that will most likely annoy many people but is hopefully another thing that gets improved with an update. A 'free' camera mode would also be a welcome addition.

The addition of 'challenges' is most welcome and is hopefully something that gets expanded on, and hopefully we get new 'official' maps and challenges with updates. Workshop support is available from release with a few vehicles already present. It would be nice to be able to install user created maps and challenges through the workshop and I hope this is something that the developer implements.

Overall I thoroughly recommend Mudrunner. If you do own the original but did not enjoy it or play it much then you will not find anything here to improve that situation. If however you own the original and enjoyed it then I believe that it would be worthwhile purchasing this, it is the game that the original should have become. If you didn't own the original and the idea of driving Russo truck through wild muddy terrian sounds interesting then you will definately enjoy this.

5/5 muddy tires.

Can't really add anything new to what has already been said.

The premise for this title made me hope it might be a fun little game, but unfortunately it is a horrible turd.

I find it hard to recomend this game to anyone, unless it is under a dollar with all DLC like I payed. It is a bland and uninspiring shooter that offers no challenge and little entertainment beyond 5-10 minutes.

The gameplay is the same rinse and repeat formula over and over, you are dropped into a biome with a bunch of dinosaurs wandering around. You kill all of them (quite easily) and then a boss dinosaur shows up, and truth be told he is as easy to kill as the others. Just before the boss shows up your character will vent his outrage with an inane quote or a roar of anguish (or is it constipation?).

The visuals look good in some parts and are weak in others. Some textures and models look alright, while some are just bad. The cutscene pictures are pretty good even if they don't actually reflect anything going on in the game. A lot of the effects are pretty rubbish, fires look terrible, explosions are like a small firecracker going off. The night vision mode is just ridiculous, a green tinge to the screen and still not being able to see ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is not night vision. The heat vision is just as bad. I thought that the cell shading mode was nice.

Sound is mediocre with your usual crappy background music, dinosaur growls and standard gun sounds. The vocalizations of the protagonist after finishing a wave are bizare, although the voice acting in the cut scenes is decent.

The movement of the dinosaurs is pretty bad and their attack pattern is always the same, run straight at you without a care in the world. They also ignore being shot at sometimes. It is pretty funny standing back watching a mob of raptors trying to run down a wee bunny, and even funnier to shoot said bunny out from under them. A bit of variety in the behaviour (besides movement speed) would be nice.

There is a good selection of weapons (especially with the DLC) and they all feel different in operation, but some of them are simply OP for what they are. The grenades and rocket lauchers are pathetic, their projectiles act like a bullet and have no blast radius at all. You can actually do without guns and survive quite easily with the melee weapons.

Other annoyances include no clipping on some objects that should be solid, invisible walls in lots of places and the precision required to pick up weapons.

I don't know if the developers had a grand plan for this game and failed to realize this plan or if they had no plan at all and just made it up as they went along. It's not a bad game, but its not a good game either. The gameplay and the story are completely disconnected, its almost as if the story was added at the last minute. Having been told by the narrator what is transpiring and then finding that your objective does not reflect these happenings completely ruins things. The story should have been left out all together, but I imagine that the developer didn't want their game to be labeled as 'just another dumb shooter with no story'.

If you want to hunt dinosaurs then I recommend looking elsewhere. I did want to enjoy this game, the opening cut scene got me interested, but unfortunately the first level killed the interest and I did not even bother paying attention to any more cut scenes after that. I was really hoping for a nice experience of 'hunting' dinosaurs, but in reality what I got was a 'shooting fish in a barrel' simulator which I only played to get all achievements.

2/5 stars.

Shadowrun Returns is a great remake of an old classic. The game is slightly let down by its lacklustre story and linear progression, but if you can look past those you will find a rather enjoyable game.

Training video went for longer than I played. The controls are absolutely terrible and the outcome of shots comes down to luck rather than skill. A nice idea sadly let down by bad execution.
