I really enjoyed this game! I went with survival difficulty for my playthrough. I felt that the game did a great job, balancing the loot vs. difficulty. It reminded me alot about "The Last of Us" in that regards. In my opinion, "the open world/you are free to advance at your own pace thing" this game is going with, is really nice. You always have time to search for collectibles, or loot, if you want to. Storywise the game did loose a bit of it's "magic" towards the end, but overall it is very good. Never once did I get the feeling "can't this part just be over with already", if you know what I mean.

I had no performance issues during my playthrough. I played the game in 5760x1200, and the game supported the surround resolution 9/10. (some hud elements could have been more centered) With 1 Titan X (Maxwell), I was usually in the mid 40's - lower 50's fps wise, and since this is not cs go, that felt ok enough. This was with every setting on it's highest, except the ones that disrupts the image. (motion blur - depth of field and so on) I experienceed no microstutters, as some people are reporting in the forums.

Audio in this game is 10/10, with awesome surround effects.

Quantum Break

The idea behind "Quantum Break", and the amount of thought that clearly went into the game, is impressing. Extreme amount of detail, in all areas of the game. (Story, graphics/environment, sound) This is very close to 10/10 in my opinion.

BUT

And this is almost kind of sad, they have this awesome story, and have no clue, aboslutely no clue , on how to tell that story! They have done it right in some areas, like the "intermission" episodes, they are cool, and original. We, the players, are able to impact these episodes, in some ways. Hence, original. (But original might be a little stretch tho') We are also of course given parts of the story while we progress through the game, in a normal fashion. But then there are the elements that are "optional". Like reading e-mails, interact with items, listening to radio broadcasts, which we are not required to do for progression. This ranges from totally ok "look at this picture, get one or two voice lines", to something as horrendous as "read 1000 words e-mails" (<- This is not exaggerated ) If you start a radio broadcast, you can't walk 2 feets away from the radio, before it starts to get hard to make out what they are saying. So you have to stand there, and listen! (And they may go on for quite some time) And so on.

These optional parts of the story are huge, and they are also important to get the whole picture. But so boring, in lack of a better word. Execution of this part of the game is out right weak. Score - 4/10

This is one of those games that are really good, when you think back at them. When you have done all the boring stuff, and know all the not so boring stuff, deeply hidden. (I am intentionally being vague, and not giving examples)

Sorry for rambeling, this was kind of a though one.

I would rate this game at about 6/10. It really isn't fair, but honest. If they had managed to come up with a better way of delivering the "boring" story parts, it would easly be a 8/10 game. Groundbreaking in some ways.

DOOM 2016

This game really turned out to be an extremly nice surprise! The single player campaign is really well made, polished to the fingertips, and so' "finished" that it, by itself, makes it worth playing. There are probably 16 years old that havn't seen such a bug free launch on pc before. This IS the way an finished game is supposed to be, at least when it goes under the "AAA" umbrella.

I haven't put in enough time in the multiplayer to judge it. But, in my opinion, it doesn't feel like "any thing special". Let's just say, it didn't really bring back the old arena-shooter feeling for me.

Performance wise this game runs extremely well on my system, and with the FPS I'm seeing, I would guess that a pretty avg. gaming pc would be able to run this game very well.

I really like this game so far. Only tested multiplayer, but what I've seen, is really good! This is for sure not a new "CoD: Ghost". The game is running perfectly on my setup, even with 200% res. scale@1920x1200. (This is with a 3770k@4,8ghz, and 16gb of ram.)
I will edit this later, when I have seen more of the game. But as far as first impression goes, this game did it right.

This game is not nearly as bad as people say it is. For those of us born somewhere around the middle-eighties, who actually played Duke3D when it was released, have heard about this game forever. (No pun intended) So it was no way it could possibly live up to the hype and expectations, when it was finally released in 2011. One and a half decade after we started hearing the name "Duke Nukem Forever". I'm guessing most of the haters have never even started this game. It is not a great game, BUT it has quite a few "Duke" moments throughout the story. That for a true fan of Duke3D will be great! (And bring back found memories)

For the youngster, or people that just did not play duke, or any of the other 3drealms games back in the day, I can see that this game will just come of as a title "trying a little bit too hard" at, well everything.

A true fan of the first 1'st person Duke game, will appreciate this game, it will bring back the "mood" from the 1996 title. And let's face it, this was never EVER trying, or claiming to be the next "Half-Life" game released for the PC-gaming community.

It is, for sure, a Duke Nukem game!

Yeah, it's like no other game out there. But in my opinion it doesn't deserve to be on the top of the podium. It is a remarkable -product- , but more from an artistic point of view, then "out-of-this-world-best-game-ever" point of view. I will not say anytinhg more about the game, since it is almost impossible without destroying the experinece the game is trying to give you.
