I've had a hard time describing this game to people when I tell them I'm playing it.
Gameplay-wise I tried to make comparisons to an Elder Scrolls game or System Shock, but I think it would be unfair to say its "Like <Insert Game Here>" as it stands out on its own.
Visually I would try to say it has a PS1-era aesthetic, but again, I think that would be a disservice to the time and art that went in to crafting the world's appearance and feel.
As for the writing and story, I was beyond pleased and incredibly surprised. Because of the intro where you start off as a prisoner, I came in expecting an Elder-Scrolls like sandbox where there's an uninteresting main quest and a million unrelated sidequests, but I found myself in a game that was focused on providing a compelling core narrative where the player's choices have a real impact in the world, even with the sidequests.

This game is a work of art and love in a unique fantasy world. It is absolutely worth it.

This game lets you pull off some of the wildest DnD shenanigans of your dreams while give you a cast of fun characters and a compelling story.

At 208 hours in, I have 2 games well into act 3, a third halfway through act 2, and plans for a whole new playthrough after I finish. I have not gotten tired of it and it is immensely enjoyable solo or with friends.
