Neat idea as an 8-bit burglar game you might have seen on the NES. The execution is lacking, though, and I found I was only entertained by this for about 30 minutes.

An adorable, yet engrossing Metroidvania style game. It's shorter compared to the average Metroidvania games, but it's still worth every minute.

Early Access Review
Kickstarter backer here. It's...okay. Once you get past the novelty of setting the game in your neighborhood, the game is honestly kind of lackluster. The pacing on progress feels glacial. And moving squads around to search surrounding buildings gets extremely tedious after awhile.

There's a nugget of potential here, but it's not there yet. The developers haven't provided any road map for where the game is going, or what kind of state it's in towards the finished product. I don't foresee this meeting the potential.

As a long-time adventure gamer, I van confidently say this isn't just one of the best modern adventure games, but it may join the ranks among some of the all-time greats.

I used to go to the arcades all the time when I was a kid, so this hits just the right nostalgia buttons for me. It's not really an arcade management game. More like a celebration of arcades of old. You can play an of the arcade games you buy for your arcade and I think that's where the real draw is. A lot of them take clear inspiration from many old games, like Pong, Pac-Man, Missile Command, etc. The quality of the games are hit and miss, but there are a lot of gems there. There's a decent challenge to most of them.

It's fun to see the little details of the arcade change as you slowly upgrade it, too. The story isn't bad, with good voice acting. Honestly, once I played through to the story conclusion, I didn't feel as inclined to do a 100% completion of the game. Your mileage may vary on that.

Still, I enjoyed it. I think others might, too, as long as you don't go into it expecting a deep arcade management simulator and more of a narrative-driven game with a lot of arcade throwback minigames.

What Smushi Come Home lacks in challenge, it makes up for in charm. It's an enjoyable, chill platformer that you'll beat in only a few hours. There are some mildly challenging platforming sections, but nothing that the average gamer can't overcome. It's cute and worth at least one playthrough.

Early Access Review
Don't bother. The developer posted on the Discord community that he's "leaving Inward as it is just now. I'm not going t o sunset the game, so you can continue to use it." This is highly disappointing, as it's another black mark on the name Early Access. This meditation simulator is still unfinished, unpolished, and poorly optimized. Find something else.

I enjoyed My Time at Portia, so I backed this on Kickstarter.

Now, I wish I hadn't. The game is extremely poorly optimized. It makes my computer run way harder than it should, even on lower graphics settings. I could only stomach to play 15-20 minutes before giving up. I waited until the 1.0 release to give this a fully try and I'm incredibly disappointed.

If they can update it with some optimization patches, I'll give it a second chance, but I don't expect that will happen. Even My Time at Portia was poorly optimized, but it wasn't THIS bad.
