Even though this game is basically abandonware at this point, I will still tentatively recommend it to on-the-fence buyers, with a few caveats.

The game is not for everyone. One of the things I enjoyed the most about it was the fact that you have to manually create your own map as you play, and the game encourages you to explore thoroughly. It's a very slow-paced, relaxing experience—something you'll either love or hate as a player.

The combat is pretty janky. There aren't (in my opinion) enough biome types. It needs more quests and other content. Really it's not an entirely finished product, but I nevertheless managed to sink an ungodly amount of time into it. Kind of frustrating that the devs have basically abandoned it, as it had the potential to be an incredible game—but it's still enjoyable in my opinion.
