I'll simply say that if you played Witness and wish you could experience something like the moment you felt like you'd been doing a simple game and it became many times more breathtaking, then Manifold Garden is a simple game where you suddenly realize you have transcended gravity and space and the world is both within your grasp and out of your control.

It's the Witness, without the weird recordings, and in 2D, with the controls and interactions as smooth as silk. Blow (and Moriarty) gave support and succor to the game, but the game's plot is, miraculously, even more razor-thin than The Witness. You're a person in a place, and you mess with stuff and make stuff light up and unlock until you're out of things to make light up and unlock. Between the beginning and the end are hundreds of little puzzles and clever environmental clues and music that would glow like sunshine and taste like honey, if it was a liquid.

I cosplayed a genius and used a walkthrough, and I still had a great time, beginning to end. If you know what you're walking into, you will not be disappointed.
