Was really promising start to Black Ops 6 with a great feeling, new and refreshing version of zombies.

However, it's shrouded in endless stupidity and controversy. Abundant AI usage, awful update and bug fix prioritising, constant cash grabbing, etc.

I cannot recommend you get this, please fix this pathetic ♥♥♥♥, I just want to play zombies.

This is a really cute dumb piece of fun.

There isn't much to say about this game due to how short and snappy it is. The visual and written humour is simplistic yet effective, it's a fun distraction for it's just over an hour game time.

I literally sold the trading cards for this game for more than I bought the game for.

Really should advertise itself as a multiplayer game as the devs are pushing this PVP end game, there isn't much going on with the meat of the main game that is advertised, if you can get it for cheap it's a fun little auto battler to kill a couple of hours but after that it dies off pretty hard if you're not after the PVP.

Mostly a walking simulator,

Not very scary, streamed this game and even my audience wasn't too impressed as a laugh,

The use of AI was very obvious and not very welcome.

The First Berkserker: KHAZAN
I've just given a chuck of the demo a go so I'll try to keep this short but I suck with words; if you're a souls enjoyer, especially the more aggressive and rhythmic style of Bloodborne[www.playstation.com] and Sekiro it's definitely worth installing the demo for this and giving it a go.

Combat Basics
Satisfying and rewarding combat is achieved here with a combination of multiple weapons for each playstyle, skill trees for each weapon (which are freely resettable for easy mid-game build changes), a slick parry that isn't too hard to get the hang of and more.

Light, heavy and charged attacks are available on each weapons. Along with blocking and parrying you will whittle down your enemies stamina or deal direct damage; the easiest ways to defeat (especially high health) enemies is by parrying and waiting for a charge heavy to get a "finisher" style move that will take a huge chuck of health, rewarding your patience and awareness.

Exploration
Khazan is a very linear game so far, using the classic bonfire system. A few shortcuts are used in each area as to not overload the area with separate "bonfires", and some side areas with secrets are available in each area; if you're looking for open world souls this is not that game, it's more akin to Dark Souls 3's approach with linear areas.

Upgrades and Progression
The game uses a level system similar to most souls likes but with less options to be more approachable, no need to worry about DEX and STR; just health, stamina, damage, magic etc.

Armour and weapons sometimes will have set bonuses and seem to drop randomly from enemies but also confirmed drops from bosses and chests. Both can also be crafted with boss drops and other resources. Armour seems to drop very frequently with minor upgrades so I did feel like I was in the menu a lot for only an hour or two of gameplay, but this isn't a huge issue I assume once you're focus on boss and craft-able armour.

Update:

I've just 100%'d the game over 70 hours, before was my demo review and after playing the game to this extent I don't wish to add too much more apart from From Software really need to up their game (especially if they're going to focus on multiplayer games focusing on only combat not storytelling), going back to Elden Ring with a very water tight but diluted and boring combat style in comparison.

The only negative I can find and warn you about is the repetitive and reused "side content" which is locks away essential items and game mechanics, I wish this content was more fresh as having to do it again in NG+ was a bit of a gruelling process. But hopefully they can improve this with a sequel.

I've also discovered this game belongs to the Dungeons and Fighters universe and hopefully they have a lot more content to work with to come along with a sequel as this was a really refreshing souls like and I'll come straight back for more.

Re: Free content update(s) have been announced, can't recommend enough now.

I didn't recommend Absolver as it felt very lacklustre with the PVP being rarely active.

However, a story mode game with improved combat and a unique mechanic is very welcome. The aesthetic and simple story telling with inspiration from Asian cinema (and some western such a Kill Bill but that's taking inspiration from Asian cinema regardless) is great, the game looks and feels great.

Highly recommend had a lot of fun, did the a normal run and the true ending within 11 hours but haven't touched the arenas or achievement hunted yet.
