It was a really cold night. The lurkers were really noisy and couldn't catch a minute to rest. The hunger and thirst were managable, as I kept running my finger in the edge of my hatchet.
I felt tired, but at the same time happy, because no matter what, they couldn't use their brain as I can, to make a good, solid plan. I've been keeping alive this little rabbit in a box for 2 days now and fighting the urges to eat it roasted on a stick. So delicious.
But there was no time to think in that. If I escaped this broken shack, then I could hunt for hundread more, so he would be the bait, not the meal.
I finished sharpen this broom stick, picked up my gear and placed the box of the rabbit near the door, under my foot. Unocked the door slowly, a little peak thru the crack and saw one standing there, without noticing me. I stuck the sharp stick thru his eye socket and tried not to let him drop. It was so heavy and I was so weak, that I could barely hold him. I opened the door enough to kick the box and make my little furry friend run. As soon as it started to leave the porche, I saw at least 10 Z's walking to it, stumbling and moaning. I assume they were happy to find something living. I think it was like 30 meters that the rabbit survived, until one Z fell on top of it and started munching. That was my escape route. My feet hurt and shook, but I kept running until I was far away from Rancho Taquito ...
