Imagine an alternate universe where EA isn't an @#$%hole to gamers who buy their games (this might take quite a bit of imagining). Imagine that, when the gamer masses cried for a new entry in the SimCity series, EA did not go and create a SimCity loaded with online play, "social" features and other miscellaneous dead weight just because these things are "in" right now. Imagine they instead made a sequel that was actually good, with a focus on gameplay and fun (yeah we're really pushing it now).
