Just finished it and absolutely loved it.
I bought this game originally because i got part 2 for free and figured I should play part 1 first.
I can't wait to play part 2!
(Edit: part 2 was even better)

Absolutely going on my all-time favourite games

Amazing game that can be finished in one sitting or spread across multiple ones.
Story is very pleasantly brought upon you and then truly sucks you in.
Walking around the same spots at different times gives different feelings; Places that gave me a sense of joy before later on gave me the chill running down my spine and vice versa.

Absolute banger of a game/story 9.8/10, would recommend!

8.8/10
Game feels very innovative, has enjoyable, and dis-likable characters. Gameplay feels nearly natural once you're used to it, graphically as good as your pc can get. Storyline also very good, occassionaly meh but overall very great game, do recommend.

Though i find it highly hypocritical to give a game that someone has spent more than 100 hours in a thumbs down, i now feel the time has come to actually do so.
The game was pretty ok a few seasons ago in my opinion, didn't have TOO much issues, my menu would load faster than it does now and would have a pretty decent experience. However, as more updates and newer seasons came the game started feeling much more buggy, laggy and glitchy. As a pretty diehard fan of halo who basically preached about it to anyone I could, i am beyond dissapointed in what happened to the franchise. It's starting to feel like Assassins creed, where the title may still be there, but the games sure as hell don't represent it. We need something better.

First time and Free Weekend review
15-04-2022 until 18-04-2022

Introduction
I've had squad on my wishlist for a long time, i was/am always interested in games like Squad, getting a bit serious about FPS tactics while also making it fun. Something more detailed than your classic FPS' yet not full-on Role-play like shooters.

Quit after two hours
When i first got the notification that Squad was on discount i didn't really bother, i knew i couldn't pay for it yet and it would probably be nothing, but i headed on over anyway, scrolled down, saw the free weekend and downloaded it. I immediately started the tutorial and it was pretty self-explanatory. I found it a nice setting and quite welcoming. Then i got to the information section about weapons and tactics and felt kind of overloaded with information, but figured none of it. After finishing the tutorial i was still kind of uncomfortable with all the information and figured i'd learn in on the go.
I hopped into a game, selected a role and just spawned somewhere. I walked and walked and didnt see any hostiles, fired a few shots and died without knowing from where. And that on repeat the first few times, i eventually got one play where i got behind enemy lines and got about 2 kills. I then deinstalled it after two hours thinking the game maybe just wasn't for me and found it hard to find my way.

Back to it.
The next day i just couldn't get over the fact that it wasn't what i expected and just had to give it another shot. I watched one video explaining the basics(which were basically in the tutorial) whilst downloading and headed back on in. This time, i had a much better idea of what i was doing and ended my first match with a couple of kills and satisfied. I then played for hours and made lots of friends along the way, i immediately noticed that there were more friendly players in this game than i'd expected. Nearly all people that have microphones are willing to help you along and explain here and there. It's more rare to find a squad that is completely silent and clueless than one that has an idea of what they're doing and actually wanna play.
One time i got into a squad, having 0 clue about vechiles and the SL(Squad Leader) explained some basics while driving to the front and we had a freaking blast! Probably one of my most memorable experiences.
Throughout the free weekend i noticed i got much better and really started contributing to the game. I ended my weekend with lots of great experiences and a much clearer idea of whether i'd buy the game or not.

Overall review
I think squad is a really good game, you just have to get over the first bump of getting to know the basics and you're good to go. Don't expect to know everything on your first few tries, winging it is not that bad for your first games, a great YT video can help too. I struggled recognizing uniforms at first but that got much better too overtime (expect to shoot some friendlies accidentally).
Squad is really the definition of a team-based game, if you stay on your lone-wolf stuff, neither you or your team will stand a chance of making it, follow orders and try to help as much out as you can, but don't mind taking off on your own a few times to learn a thing or two.
The graphics are pretty nice yet i had some graphical issues on the way on some maps, but they weren't really that bad that it makes you throw your monitor out of the window.
Gameplay is on it's peak in my opinion, whether you're crawling through a field hoping to gain and advantage or being dropped off at the front by a heli, you're always on the way to fun. Sometimes that fun is just building a FOB with your squad and holding the line so that when the squad ahead of you fails to hold their own you're their to stop the upcoming attack.

To conclude i'd say Squad is definitely worth a try for those interested, it may be a step up from your regular FPS' but once you get the hang of it it can be as exciting as can be. Once i have the money to buy it, i definitely will.
