A very fun, very replayable, very different digital card game. A really worthy buy.

This game is great for 5 reasons:
First, it is inspired by a board/card game, which means that it focus on your entertaiment. It is not a game as a service, and it feels really rewarding when you persevere (sometimes alone, agains an AI) for the sake of it, and actually make it.
Second, it is simple, yet difficult. The base of the game is really straight foward, which can seem monotonous at first, but the AI and the difficulty and situations that you face are made in such a way that you suddenly are facing a new puzzle every round.
Third, because of the previous, and because it is a PVE game, deckbuilding is actually FUN. It has different difficulty settings and you are facing an AI that doesn't netdeck, so you can go wild, try weird things, try different heroes. Everything can end up working (or not), and it is now one of the very few digital card games that makes the deckbuilding experience actually interesting instead of futile.
Fourth, it IS a cooperative game. Again, this is PVE, there is no netdecking, so playing with friends make sense, and it's fun, and even more fun with weird decks. The multiplayer doesn't feel a subpar experience, something pointless that you do on the side, but actually one of the most fun experiences of the game, and something that you can look foward to.
And fifth, it has plot, and voice acting, and it is actually cool. Maybe the plot is not that awesome, but it adds to the atmosphere, and every new quest is a chill experience, with both a cool introduction to every step of the quest, and then the process of discovering the encounter and how to solve it. Sometimes you will even encounter hidden paths that take you to different situations.

I am really glad that I bought this game. It is very replayable, not in the sense of the other digital cardgames in which you will sink hours, but in the sense that you will play every quest multiple times, with different decks and different expectations, and feel that your time and money were properly expended. As a boardgame would.

First of all, I unrecommended, although I think it's worth checking if it's cheap and you don't expect much of it. Like a bad horror movie.

Now, the game is meh. I don't say mediocre, because it has some interesting things here and there, but still, the whole experience can be resumed in a simple "meh".

The writing is childish and boring, but I feel it is well inspired, in the sense that it feels that it has all the pieces for something good, and it presents itself in a very interesting way, but in the ends its a cult of people that ♥♥♥♥♥ (and they do so boringly) and of demons from weird places full of penises. Also, they all say ♥♥♥♥ a lot because that makes dialogs more mature.

Still, it is not that I dislike the game, is that I am dissapointed. The whole atmosphere is ok, and the visuals, while poorly made most of the time, is actually enjoyable, and sometimes feels like a cool game from the late 2000, so if extremely detailed models is your gist, this isn't your game, but besides that, the aesthetic of it all is quite good, with a lot of little details and statues here and there, some of them more interesting that others (lot of penises, of course).

Gameplay-wise... yeah. It's Amnesia on a lazy day, which isn't bad... but not good. You walk around, you examine stuff randomly, read a bunch of papers (and not that many), push buttons, move puzzle piezes in position, and when something aggresive appears, you just jam the sprint button and keep going with your bussines. I literaly died twice, once on the first monster because I didn't knew where I was, and another time because I thought I could enter somewhere without pushing a button before. And I suppose you can die if you are captures on the "sneak" parts, but I didn't, ever, because it was extremely easy not to.

Besides that, you have the whole mask deal, which resumes in: put on mask, cross something, take off mask. Pretty binary. The mask have a dementia thing going on that is not even that interesting: after a while with the mask, you go mad. In general the dementia thing is extremely weak and simple, and nothing like Amnesia or Call of Cthulhu, although it is clearly inspired by it.

Finally, the voice acting is quite bad. Like, really. Sometimes it is because of the actors, sometimes it is because the voices were poorly recorded (volumen and clarity going up and down on the same conversation shows that each person had their own way of recording their voices), and most of the time is just that the dialogues are bad.

To keep it simple, the game is bad because the writing is bad. Even though gameplaywise it is quite weak, and even with the models being poorly made, and the voices badly recorded, everything could be salvaged if what you are being told and if what is happening were interesting, but it is not. This has a vibe of Cultist Simulator, thematicaly, but the writing in that game was SO. MUCH. BETTER. That what you feel while playing this is just dissapointment, because if this team, with this determination to make something... tabooish, lovecraft-like, had just a better script, the game, even being 2 hours long, would have been pretty great, and I would probably have recommended it to many people. But nope.

Again, if you find it cheap, or have money to burn, do it, it is ok. But dissapointing. Man, I feel like I'm rambling a little bit here, but it is just so... dissapointing. Everything is acceptable, and in the right direction, and yet... Arg.

PS: Also, if you plan on making a story about demons from the lustful dimension, hire some fraking women to write the cult and the demons, because the whole cult here is focusing on puting penises (and penis-like stuff) into places. Really, for a Cult of the Devauchery theses orgies seems deviced by a 15 year-old boy.

Great story, soundtrack, characters. It has so many options, and it reflects the atmosphere so perfectly that is one of the best RPGs in the world.

Whenever you mention it, someone, somewhere in the world, will reinstall it again.

EDIT: Man I hate how you can't play this game with the Steam launcher while using the Unofficial Patch. Those 4 hours would actually be like 200/300 (On my way to my 7th run of this thing).
