This game scratches that "isometric RPG" itch but with combat/stealth that hearkens more to a FarCry style stronghold-assault at times. I enjoy how they've used western folklore to inspire the world-building, which is aided by the narration. It's ultimately more focused and smaller scale than the PC RPGs it reminds me of, but with a higher concentration of fun/meaningful gameply.

This game has some very Oddworld-like inspiration. Easily played in one sitting but I have yet to go back and find the secrets I missed. Very cool and fun gameplay arc.

This game is a little bit GBA Mario Tennis, a little bit Pokemon, and a little sports anime in its influence, but really pulls off what it's going for with style and polish. The writing is pretty fun as well. It deserves some more attention.

I had to wait for the hype to die down, as I sometimes do, but it was no less potent playing this over a year after release. Incredibly well-written and designed. I will be thrilled to see what other stories come from this team and would love a detailed artbook and compendium of what was in this one.

If you have a friend or three to team-up with, this game can be a lot of fun. Decent sense of dread, waiting for the ghost to start haunting and there's a lot of strategy to learn as you play.

This game is kinda freaky, kinda creepy and (from what I've seen playing through Act 1) does a great job of nailing that immersive, interactive novel vibe where you feel like you're with the characters. It just peeks at the edges of a really interesting world of backwoods, supernatural, American South myth.

Turn off your lamp on the tram.

I got hooked on Civ IV but when I heard about all that was being changed for the fifth installment I was unsure if I'd like it. Well I recieved it as a gift, started playing a game around 9pm and by the time I pulled myself away from the machine it was 8am!

I never do this with any other game but the time just melts away here. You have been warned.

This is a rogue-like. It's turn-based and when you die you start over.

It's really addictive even though I've only been down to level 4 or 5 at most.

You should really play Saints Row: The Third.

This isn't Grand Theft Auto, it's much more ridiculous. Nothing is taken seriously but the action is fast-paced and over-the-top and each new mission outdoes the last. I was sad when it was over.

Play this with headphones and a controller if you can. The soundtrack alone is worth a purchase and the game world fleshes-out in interesting ways.
