You may be asking yourself this: "Why, in God's green earth, is this guy giving a positive review amid the #fixtf2 movement?"

Well, simply put--I am not recommending this game because of the way it is now, otherwise it would be a negative review. No, I am making this review a positive review not because of how the game is now, but rather how it was, the way I remember it.

I haven't been on as long as some others have some may say that I had already joined when TF2's golden age had already ended, but hell, to say that I didn't have a banger of a time would be a lie. I've seen many a strange individual, I've won and lost many intense matches, and hell, the joys of rocket jumping have not been lost to me after all of these years. I don't believe that those times are over, but they are a hell of a lot harder to come by now with this bot crisis. If things continue to go the way they are now, then perhaps TF2 won't make it to the end of this year.

Before I get labeled a defeatist though--let it be known that I will stand by this game until the end. If Valve decides to pull the plug, then God willing I'll be enjoying one last match on 2Fort before the servers go down for good. That aside, I am aware that there are other options, people are already talking about TFC or other mods taking up the mantle, and while they have their merits, it wouldn't be the same. Perhaps it is just me blowing sentimental ♥♥♥♥ out of my ass, but it is truly how I feel about the talk of succession.

To all still reading this, keep up the good effort, I'll be giving my support in the ways I feel are best. Nevertheless, if it does come to it, letting go will be hard, but perhaps I shall prepare for it just in case. May TF2 live forever, and if not, may it get the send-off it justly deserves.

TL:dr I'm sentimentally attached to this game, but if it goes, it goes.
