As a long time Ark player I cannot reasonably recommend this game until it is more optimized better for hardware, very basic and important bugs are fixed, and UI is improved. If you play single player, hundreds of players are getting frequent crashes even when FPS is great. If you are a multiplayer you are stuck to Nitrado's whim. The game shows potential to be a nice refresher back into Ark and the structure building seems better to S+ mods, connecting much much nicer. I see alot of potential but wait a month before you buy it to see if they actually patch everything up. At this time, it is actually unplayable for me on a GTX 4090 due to crashing every 5 mins and losing my progress. I have spent over 3 of my game hours trouble shooting the game and 30 mins actually playing.

Simply more subnautica. The game is a tad bit smaller it feels like in terms of total square feet, but the tender love and care in each section and biome is evident. Every crevasse to explore has been shaped and tested over time during development. While I do like the newer vehicles, I wish the map was a bit bigger and I really miss the glorious submarine from the first game. Nothing console commands can't fix though.
