A lot of improvements since the release, specially the end game content with passive tree, factions, champions, etc. The campaign now have dungeons to skip some acts to speed up the progression, apart from that, is the same old.

Enjoyed the character progression, loot drops are not hard to come by, specially if you pick the Circle of Fortune faction.
Targeting in this game is AWFUL. You will have a hard time when it comes to using skills that need accurate targeting the enemy. A lot of time, depending on the terrain, position (character/enemy), It simply doesn't hit. Using items to increase the area of the skill has minor effect, unless you focus heavily on it, and still didn't feel good.
Another thing about this game is, end game gears is pretty much all unique items (converted to legendary items later on) if you want to do the hard content like high corruption monolith and uber bosses. Which makes only some classes/skills/builds viable for the lack of uniques (that has skill synergies).
If you just follow the meta and build guides this is not a concern, but if you want to enjoy your build with some off meta skill, you still can, just not the hardest end content.
Combat is still bad compared to other ARPG's. Movements and attacks just feels, floaty? No sense of gravity/Mass.

Still, enjoyed playing Tombs of the Erased. If Steam had a neutral recommendation, i would give this one a Neutral.

1.0 Release Review

By no means Last Epoch is a bad game, the reason i'm not recommending it, is for the simple fact that it didn't click me. Specially the end-game (Monolith), the loop gets so boring, it has so little customization on what you can do. Another thing is, for a ARPG that you constantly attack/cast spells, the attacks feel so numb, it's like swinging/hitting the air, it has no impact.

Played the Early Access, Runemaster Level 87, Softcore.
Played the Release 1.0, Warlock level 82, Hardcore SA. (RIP)

If your main ARPG is Path of Exile/Diablo 2: and want to fill the gap between leagues, guess you could buy Last Epoch, though, i see more value in Grim Dawn.

IF your main ARPG is Diablo 3/4: buy Last Epoch.

Still good to this date, still being updated, the price is just right, still better than crap ARPG being released in 2023. If you are an old dog ARPG gamer since Diablo I & II, you should get this one.

This is not a bad rhythm game at all but, if you like the old bemani/djmax style games, this is not for you. The thing that i didn't like the most was controlling the wheel, tried playing around customizing the controls but still, the best way i could play was using the mouse, using one hand except for one key on leyboard you have to press on hard mode. I definetly miss the more old style keyboard/piano like play. Overall it's a good game, different/inovative i guess, the songs are good, Spin FM mode is pretty fun.
