The droid body has a battery-only slot 5, so it cannot wear the undergarment uniforms. However, it can wear all outer suits and helmets and headgear, though night-vision goggles are totally redundant as this feature is built into the basic body. Some helmets clip through some head types and look quite stupid, but others work okay. I find the head-lamp and sensor glasses are a great combination on Mars, and the marine armor fits well enough (and grants 4 extra pockets).

It should be noted that there are more head styles than the two shown here. One of the heads looks like Johnny Five from the famous Short Circuit films. Body and eye-glow colors can be selected, in the same way as hair and gender can be changed for the human models. In order to spawn as an alternate species though, you must select it in the main menu, before creating a new world.

The droid body is immune to low pressures, though extreme temperatures can be damaging. On Mars, the droid can happily work day & night wearing nothing but a battery. Storms do not damage even a naked droid body, but be wary of digging under your feet (it can randomly damage your body same as the space suits).

Droids do not need air, water, or food; only electricity. Loss of power in the battery in slot 5 causes cognition to rapidly deteriorate, so keep it topped up. Droids do not land with a suit, so they have no flashlight starting out; you have to craft a helmet or head lamp. To compensate, and as a species-unique bonus, you have built-in night-vision, toggled with the N key. Using night-vision will drain the battery a little faster than not. Electricity is your life, and all other concerns are secondary, so prioritize power infrastructure. Nuclear batteries are your goal and will be your best friend.

Droid bodies can be repaired using medical tablets or by using a cryotube supplied with power and oxygen. Other gases might work with droids, but I have not tested this yet. The medical analysis card works similarly to how it does for organic bodies.

I like to think of the droid as being a transhuman; in this case, an uploaded & digitized human mind.
